For every reasonable take, you get like 10 unhinged takes on the Cinemassacre Truth subreddit. Like yeah, James has checked out basically. You could even see it in the later bunch of James and Mike Mondays plus the mediocre to outright bad AVGN videos. Yeah, Screenwave/Retroware didn't help things and have their various issues as well. Yeah, Bootsy and Kyle left due to not being treated right.

It's just really messed up when people go after James' wife, make comments about his personal life, and take a Youtuber not being as good as he once was so personally. Hell some even go after James' musical taste. "lol he like entry level boomer bands". Ffs.

Conservatives are fine with this. They want this. Hell, they probably think the company getting a pitiful fine is bullshit. "That kid knew the risks" or some other crap like that.

Speaking of confederate flags, when the government decided to remove it from the state flag, some guy around here went nuts and threw an IED into a Wal Mart. Thankfully nobody got hurt. I used to pass his house on the way to my friends' houses. He had the old state flag and confederate flag flying and had lots of signs in his yard talking about how "they can't take away our heritage!" and crap like that.

Still baffles me how idiots worship the confederacy and think they'd be rich slave owners if the south won. It's the same as back then: rich using poor peoples' hatred of others against them so the rich can benefit. So many would gladly throw their lives away for Trump like many southerners did in the war. At least the ones who weren't conscripted.

I'm starting to really wonder if Republicans have shrines to Satan or Beelzebub or some demonic entity in their homes. They certainly have one of Mammon. The death cult jokes seem real. It's like they do evil for the sake of evil.

Seriously, what's the reason for this? It can't be to not look hypocritical because of covid because conservatives are hypocritical all the time with no issue.

And people should be able to sue parents who let their kids go to school with diseases like this.

I haven't seen as many yet, but I'm sure they'll pop up closer to election time. Seen plenty of stickers on trucks. A few years ago, one guy had a Trump flag and the old state flag flying from a pole on their truck. I'm sure there will be people doing similar things.

While wanting to be accepted by others is part of it, my main issue is feeling "wrong" when discussing anything LGBT+ period and feeling like an imposter or something. Or is that the same thing?

They always go the "no u" route when it comes to this. That and accusing every crazy right winger/nazis of being federal agents.

The thing is, they know they're full of shit and they know we know they're full of shit yet they keep lying because that's just their way.

He's definitely one of them especially in The Return. When I saw the series for the first time I hated him at first then after a few key scenes throughout the show, I couldn't help but to like him.

I don't have any queer friends at the moment, but I've been friends with gay men and lesbians in the past and even though I was closeted, there was something nice about hanging out with others like that.

And to everybody: knowing that others have similar feelings makes me feel a bit better although I'm sad others feel that way too.

Technically, non-binary peeps are trans, but I digress as it's not important for this topic, and you don't seem to place much importance on it yourself. You are experiencing classic imposter syndrome and that is okay. It's MUCH more common than you think, especially in the younger queers (not sure if younger or not, but still). I used to feel that way too, for a time.

I'm 34. Young enough I guess. Had feelings like this for a while.

Of course, I don't know what you can do if you live in a red state other than move. Not suggesting you do that, for the record. But maybe you can try to scope out the local queer community and try for support there. Failing that, you can try to find enby, trans, and bi/pan spaces online, too.

Yeah, online stuff is my only option so far.

Hell, every year when I make an Ace Pride Topic in June, people on this very board decide to come in and say asexuals are just "in denial". One absolute trophy of a person even said I was just "trying to justify being an incel".

Sounds similar to the crap bis/pans get. "Oh you're just totally gay and in denial." Those kind of things get to me a bit. Typical bigots are one thing, but when it comes from within the community, it sucks.

If the legbutt things you're referring are things like gossiping about gay culture, like the latest episode of Ru Pauls Drag Race, know that culture is not some monolithic thing. I don't watch the NFL (any football, really), but that doesn't mean I don't participate in "straight culture", lmao. If you don't like female pop stars or drag, that's... perfectly fine.

Not necessarily those parts of the culture, but just a feeling of belonging in general.

If the legbutt things you're referring are things like conversations with idiots who think trans people both aren't real but also are a physical threat to children, it's possible to come across as an "ally" (aka, a straight person with empathy) and positively contribute to the conversation.

I don't have much issue going after idiotic bigots. It's just conversing within LGBT+ groups in general.

I'm conflicted, I'm sad others have similar feelings, but I'm also relieved I'm not alone in my thinking.

It's hard to put my exact feeling into words. I feel like an "imposter" (was going to put the phrase "imposter syndrome" in my topic title, but looked it up and realized that phrase doesn't mean what I thought it did).

I'm bi/pan sexual. Been that way for a long time. I'm still in the closet in real life. I'm also non-binary, I guess. Still not sure what I'd call myself. I have my "male" side and my "female" side, so to speak. I've always outwardly presented as male, but in private it's different and I dress up and do that sort of thing. I feel a lot more comfortable and feel "right". Not nearly as much as I'd like since I don't live alone. If I did, I'd probably dress how I like all the time. I'm not sure if I'd call myself "trans", but I have deep thoughts about how if I didn't live in such a right wing state, would I go further?

When talking about LGBT+ things, I sometimes I feel like it's not my place to talk about them at all. I know deep down I shouldn't be having feelings like that, but regardless I have that part of me that feels that way and I don't know why.

Again, it's hard to put my feelings and identity into words and I'm basically venting because I've been thinking about this all day at work so forgive me if I'm rambling and not making sense. I don't have nobody else to talk to about it as well. Anyone else in the community have feelings like this?

I'm going to have to work until I drop dead.

I skip the Evelyn scenes on every rewatch. There's a lot of buffoonery I'm willing to put up with in season 2 just because I love the show that much, but that's where I draw the line.

In the middle of my first rewatch and plan to skip it too. Other than that I enjoyed season 2 even with some other of the really wacky stuff like Nadine's plotline.

And yeah that headline was pretty damn bad. Yeesh.

The inherent threat of another attack is what unites the planet, that's why the endings are exactly the same and for whatever reason, people want to pitch a fit, because they didn't get to see a giant squid.

I was thinking along the lines of the people who don't know the true story about it. They don't know all about the squid and in the case of another attack, there's the idea humanity could potentially stop it. Everyone knows how powerful DM is and how he's like a god, so how could humanity unite to stop him if he decided to attack again like they could with the "alien"?

Like I said, it's a minor issue and the movie ending didn't bother me really.

I have to disagree with at least some of that. In this day and age, it's very easy to go with the standard MCU formula when making a comic-book movie. Most DCEU movies don't really do that, and while I agree that a lot of them have been trainwrecks, I can't deny that Watchmen and ZS's Justice League were qualitatively great and even relatively original.

Oh, I wouldn't want them to copy the MCU formula exactly, but I didn't care for the direction they went with. I don't 100% blame Snyder either because I have a feeling no matter who was picked, WB/DC would have screwed it up somehow given their track record.

There's a pop-ish element to the Ramones, but I wouldn't call them "pop punk" exactly. Lots of punk music is melodic without being pop punk.

Watchmen is only good because it's 90% straight from the comic. Most of the bad parts are when Snyder gets all Snyder-y and puts his own mark on it.

I'll still never understand DC choosing him to not only make a Superman movie when he obviously hates the character, but also to lead their own comic book movie universe. What a waste.
