PlanetSmasher: I mean I literally had a panic attack and ragequit the demo last night after the Terror from the Deep boss killed me four times before I could do any meaningful damage to it. This is the problem I have with the game - enemies are just way too aggressive and way too agile, and do WAY too much damage, whereas recovering from the damage they do is sluggish and difficult and enemies love to punish you in the middle of animations, taking away all of your resources and giving you even more damage you now have to recover from.

You're just EXPECTED to take huge amounts of damage but the game gives you no reasonable abilities for giving yourself breathing room or RECOVERING from the damage you're forced to take, and your ATB recovers so slowly that if one of your characters gets KO'd at the wrong time, you have no choice but to just pause the game and restart the fight from the beginning.

I was hoping Rebirth would smooth over this kind of "death spiral" combat loop, but unfortunately based on my experiences with the demo and my conversations with people who have played the full game, that issue has not been smoothed over at all. It doesn't feel like they made any adjustments to aggro or attack patterns to help people who struggle with feeling overwhelmed. If anything, due to ATB charge rates being SLOWER than in Remake, healing is actually harder than it was before.

Have you considered not forcing yourself to play a game you don't jive with? Why do you keep bitching about it? Why do you post more than any other person in every single thread? Not in 1000 years and with 10 billion dollars could a group of people who don't know wtf they're doing create a critically acclaimed video game. At the end of the day it's the quality of the development team themselves that decides things.

This is especially true when most of the team members that make a studio great up and leave, and then people expect the studio to keep pumping out hits like that didn't matter.

The funny thing is, 60fps USED to be the default. The standard.

NES, SNES, Genesis games, those were ALL at 60fps in North America. Super Mario World was 60fps.

PS1 and N64 introduced stuff at 30fps and even lower. But everyone was so impressed with 3d graphics at the time that they didn't mind the lower frame rates.

It's 2024. 720p internal resolution to get 60fps is unacceptable.

30fps is unacceptable.

It looks like shit. It's looked like shit since the PS1 era.

1080p 60fps is the bare MINIMUM ALL games should aspire to, unless you're some indie game that has intentionally lower poly counts.

It feels like devs are making the decision to target 30fps and it's just WRONG.

If you can't render your image at 1080p 60fps then your game engine and assets are TRASH and you need to do better. Modern hardware can do it. I promise you.

Get your game to 60fps 1080. Jesus.

Trump's policy advisors are releasing plans for "Christian Nationalist" policy to be ready to be implemented on day one of a potential new Trump administration.

Politico has gotten ahold of internal documents from Trump campaign advisors and former Trump admin officials with a list of policy ideas that they have agreed to pursue.

The patriarch of a right-wing Canadian family of eight had just about enough of the gay people existing in his country. "We didn't feel safe for our children there in the future anymore. They did all of this just three weeks ago, and Russian officials assured them that they would work with them to get them established, and even help them get a farm. Long story short, they lived happily ever after. Except they didn't.

First off, the Russian bank where they moved their funds immediately froze their assets. The amount of money seemed suspicious, as I guess it would since most Russians outside of Putin's circle are dirt poor. As a result, the family doesn't have money to live on, and those nice Russian officials disappeared.

Since no one in the family speaks Russian they've had a bear of a time trying to argue for their money since Russia doesn't require any bank, or any business, to hire English translators. In the meantime, they discovered that Russia is a pretty damn miserable place to be right now.

The fact is Trump is polling better against Biden than he did 4 years ago. The fact is also that Biden appears significantly more feeble than 4 years ago, while Trump looks and sounds the same that he has his entire political career.

That said, sticking with Biden is probably still the Democrats best bet, even if he has a <50% chance of winning (which he does currently).

You need to understand their polling methodology.

How do they get the results for these polls?

Answer: Landline polls. No joke. They call people's phone numbers and ask them who they prefer. Guess what happens? They get a bunch of 60+ year olds who answer calls from random phone numbers and a bunch of people who don't pick up.

So yeah, amongst the group of Americans who answer calls from random phone numbers, Trump has a marginal preference rating, 6+ months out from the election.

End of the fucking world, I know.

You can assume the GOP goblin will be a fascist. The only thing you can do is vote for the Dem candidate in the general, no matter how much you hate them. And the only way you can NOT hate the Dem candidate in the general, is if you participate in the primaries and help elect a progressive candidate.

Biden won the primaries in 2020 so he's the candidate for the general. Then he won that. Incumbent presidents basically 99% of the time are shoe-in to re-run in the next general.

You don't really get to "pick" you you want for president until the 2028 primaries. So until then it's Biden vs Trump and I'll take Biden every time in that.

All this bitching about people dislike Biden etc. etc. achieves nothing. There are two options guys: Biden or Trump. That's it. No one else is going to win. These are the only two possibilities that can play out at this point (unless one of them keels over or something).
