I've been saying for a while that I fully expect it to be the greatest FF game of all time. Or at least top 3 for most people. It'll certainly be my favorite and game of the year for me.

After playing FF7 Remake last year, I got into a Final Fantasy kick and tried the PS1 FF games since I had never played them and they were available on PS Plus Essentials/Premium or whatever. Man, that overworld theme for FF9 is great. I could easily see how it would be very nostalgic for people. I think FF9 would have been my favorite JRPG as a kid if I would have played it back then. I haven't made it far into the game yet though.

Besides anime nonsense storyline, they seem to be going big with the gameplay. Expanded combat from remake, more meaningful sidequests, more minigames than OG FF7. It really looks good.

I played it for the first time a couple of years ago and I think its absolutely fantastic! Like I could sit with some trees outside and get a sense of the entire world kind of vibe.

I haven't even played the game in a few months, yet it's still in my head. I've been playing the theme everyday at work this week.

Now you can't play it, if you play a game that got poor review scores, you are an inferior human that should be ridiculed... but Metacritic is high, so your game is partly redeemed and you may allow yourself to play it.

Just don't you fucking DARE compare it to the game I like better that got a 95, you plebians! Metacritic is love, IGN and Gamespot review scores are life.

Thats...your opinion. Not liking it doesnt mean its terrible. They just have been somewhat lackluster to their golden era, but Remake and 16 seem to be bringing it back on track. Of course my opinion as well, but its one shared by much more people than yours.

Hey is that the same Cloud from Dirge of Cerberus? He was so cool in that 30 second cutscene and that one phonecall he made to Vincent, I always wondered why they didn't do anything more with that character.

It's exclusivity period is surprisingly only 3 months. Remake had a 1 year exclusivity I think.

Edit: or maybe it was longer. Just remembered I think it got pushed out longer with the DLC. Then there was the Epic Games Store exclusivity for a while.

Timed exclusive, actually. Its exclusivity runs out in the middle of this year, so they'll probably be working on a PC port from that point.

Metacritic score is currently the second highest FF of all time, behind the original.

Lol with game informer I know you have to add a point for any Japanese games. they have some kind of bias and have for a long time

Between gamespots 8 and igns 9 i believe the game will at best be a middling 8.5.

worth at least a first run through but nothing that will occupy peoples minds until the next one is out just like with the first.
