I played MW2 (2009) for some time but quit because of the bullshit slow unlocking system. Went back to playing Halo 3 after that. I played a few other Call of Duty games after that, but only the single player campaigns.

There is no reason everything cannot just be unlocked from the start. It was done to make the game a Skinner Box.

Also, the pre-nerf akimbo 1887 shotgun from MW2 was considered broken and was one the later unlocks.

I meant perks in a general sense, not specifically perks from Call of Duty. A multiplayer game that gives any player who plays more an advantage, whether it is more weapon choices, leveling up weapons, perks, etc is terrible game design and soley used to rope players to constantly play the game.

What kind of genius design is it to give veteran players (who should be better at the game) more power compared to new players? The only reason I see to do this is to make the game a Skinner Box.

Nope. Any multiplayer that gives perks to people who have played longer cannot be the GOAT. MW2's biggest issue was it popularized the leveling up system and it spread to a bunch of games.

I think I'm near the end and am enjoying it much more than 7. In general, the humor works way better in this game and it also handles serious moments better. 7 got very soap opera like melodramatic near the end.

Combat is also much more engaging even though the additions seem rather minor (such as positioning mattering more).

Kind of strange they don't. My hal-effect 8BitDo controller blows the official Microsoft and Nintendo controllers out of the water, not because it is amazing, but because its built well. The quality control sucks on Microsoft controllers and they almost always get stick drift and the Nintendo Pro controller d-pad sucks.

No. The last actual combat experience China had is them invading Vietnam in 1979 (and China losing that war).

I suppose you could count Tienanmen Square and putting down Hong Kong protests as "combat experience" but that's not really relevant in invading a sovereign country like Taiwan.

I'm curious how the protection for tenants "in a legal dispute" will work. If an owner wants to kick a tenant out couldn't they just say they are a squatter and get police involved before the tenant even brings up a legal dispute?

Yeah, if they are very smart and able to easily grasp what is going on despite the teacher or if they are really dedicated to figuring it out by themselves though self learning.

You need some intelligence, but I think that part is overrated. I do not have "innate" math skills so I couldn't easily breeze through math classes with bad teachers (unlike some other subjects). The easiest math classes I took all had really great teachers. I think a teacher who knows how to properly explain how things work is key.

i'm always in the majority on these polls or right next to it. ever since the ones back in the 2000s. definitely had a lot of us as teens joined gamefaqs in the 2000s and grew up with it.

crazy the poll starts at 24 and under. i remember the old ones starting at under 13 to try and catch underage users or just people trolling. think back then it was probably like 50+ too for the max option.

One of my favorite Halo games. I know a lot of people hated it, but I loved armor lock. One time in beta we decided to camp the upper elevator of the small map and all 4 of us had armor lock. You would think this would cause us to lose, but it must of really titled the other team and they kept blindly charging us and we won.

I have mixed feeling about reticle bloom. On one hand, throwing luck into shooting is a bad idea. On the other, I loved how you needed to pace your shots*, especially since you want get in body shots with the DMR and then get in a narrow headshot once their shield is down.

*From my understanding this wasn't how it worked at high level play. But I don't get a shit about e-sports so I didn't care.
