This is why people went holy war mode at Paper Mario Sticker Star, and to a lesser extent, Super Paper Mario. It went from a fun RPG to an action platformer with some RPG elements and some odd art direction (like making your partners literal squiggles). And then from there it went and made the RPG equivalent to if 4kids were to butcher Berserk to the point where it is kid-friendly. i.e. there is a hollow shell of an RPG-like system, but most of the mechanics are missing and there are only about 4 or 5 actual characters that are not either an enemy or a generic toad. --- I am the Hunter of Topics.
