From my understanding, LCDs sucked for gaming when they were new in the late 90s or early 2000s. That's not the case anymore. The technology has improved, and there are plenty of gamers who play on LCDs.
IIRC, professional PC gamers are playing on LCDs now, too, and since they often play first person shooters, they have similar concerns that you would have. Just saying.
If you're really desperate, get a prescription for adderal. Not the wimpy time release kind. Focus on how that will make your tasks ("work") a new and fun experience. It'll turn you into superman for a while. I say don't use this unless you need to, not because it's bad but because you may find you want to go back to the old you later. It's sort of a one-time boost.
I've been wondering if I need something like Adderall. Sometimes I can focus deeply on a task, but a lot of the time I find that I get off-track and need to multitask. I really should get myself checked.
alternatively, if you don't like either extreme, a part time schedule. or the min necessary for financial aid (12 credits).
Last semester, I dropped a class and I ended up having 12 units instead of 16. That's actually why financial aid is upset with me; dropping a class isn't a problem, but it is if it makes you drop below a certain number of units depending on how many units you have. Juniors are supposed to have 15 units each semester, and I'm actually in a deficit of 2 units by not taking 18 units this semester (must average to 15 units, but financial aid said that people who try to take 18 units after dropping a class are rarely successful). It's really dumb.
Sleep aids maybe? If you're feeling burned out you need to sleep and recover so like it or not you have to do it.
I'm considering trying to get a prescription for them, but I have a caffeine addiction. As in, I tried to not have caffeine this weekend, and I got massive headaches and stuff until I had a soda with caffeine. I'm not sure how well sleeping pills will work.
Gonna be honest here, you just have to keep pushing through.
I was able to do this for the past few weeks, but then I just couldn't take it anymore :/ Maybe I will feel better tomorrow when I am back in school. At least, I'm hoping so.
You just can't let yourself go there, because once you do it's hard to come out of.
I definitely have experienced this as well.
The burnout really started after my dog died. I lost a few days of productivity over grief, and it backlogged me quite a bit. I pushed myself really hard (I've never used Red Bull in my life, but I started the week my dog got sick) and ended up getting good grades. I let myself sleep as much as I could, but now I just feel burned out.
I typed a bunch of stuff about why I'm just so burned out, but I doubt anyone really wants to see a BlogFAQs post. To sum it up, I'm overstressed, backlogged on work, and I have the financial aid office breathing down my neck. I'm just exhausted. I wanted to get a lot of work done this weekend, but I was so burned out that I didn't do anything (and I usually don't let that happen).
I love it when people get angsty about gas prices. They need to get MORE pissed, so that we can reach a level where change can occur
Changes are already happening. Hybrid cars are a lot more common now, and SUVs have fallen in popularity (except the more modern, fuel efficient ones, I guess).
There is still a lot that needs to change, but it's progress!

Does it count if you bought DLC only as part of a package with the game? Such as a Game of the Year edition?
If so, probably Oblivion. I wanted to get the DLC for it, but I didn't want to spend much. Steam had Oblivion GotY Deluxe with all the DLC for cheaper than the price of just the DLC. So, I bought it. I could have bought something including DLC without realizing it, tho
I had used the wrong card on a purchase this week, and the transaction was pending so I couldn't cancel my account. Oh well. Any other reasons to stay with my bank?
I never wrote in my manuals because I didn't want to mess them up. I used scrap paper for everything, but I rarely used paper once I got a computer. At that point, I'd just type it out because I didn't want to lose anything.
...because there is also the fact that I lost many manuals over the years, always for cartridge games. I wouldn't keep the box/manual with the cartridge, but I would with disc games because I don't want the disc to be scratched.

For me, March 10. I got my notice in the mail about 2 weeks ago. However, my mom who also has an account there did not get a notice, but she has direct deposit and uses her debit card a lot more than I do.
I have the requirements right in front of me, and you need to have one of these things to not be charged a fee: 10 or more debit card uses (excluding ATMs) Average monthly balance of $1,000 Receive at least one direct deposit of $250
I'd ask about it. From what I saw online, they got rid of free checking for new members last year in some areas, and I guess they are getting rid of it for current customers now. It's probably done in waves or something.

I'm looking at the fees and I don't see anything for typical transactions. The only thing I see is if I use my card at certain ATMs that I assume are not part of the CO-OP network. I don't see anything besides that, though.
My bank wants to charge me $8 a month to have a checking account if I don't use my debit card enough, if I don't get direct deposit, or if I don't have over $1,000 on average in my checking account. I'm a student. Enough said. Also, I am seeing on the website that my bank also wants to charge $4 for a savings account per month if the balance falls below $300, but I have not been notified about that. There are some months where I definitely will get charged $12 just to have an account, and some months where I won't pay anything, but I'd rather not play this game. It's unfortunate, because I was happy with my bank.
I opened an account at a credit union last week, with a minimum savings account balance of $1 and no fees for just having an account, besides a one time setup fee of $9. It lacks rewards points (from what I can tell), but their interest rates for savings are better, and their loan rates are pretty good as well (not that I'd qualify yet, but it's good to know). I can also get free ATM withdrawals at most other credit unions and 7-Elevens, so that's not a problem.
I can't think of any reason to keep my bank account. Can you think of any, Board 8? I'm thinking of canceling today after I cash out my rewards points.
They are limited, but oatmeal is another, and I know Burger King has milk as an option instead of soda for their kids meals. I think both have an option of apple slices instead of fries.
Again, it is all limited, because there isn't a huge demand for it. People go to fast food places to get food fast, not necessarily for healthy options.
Smoking provides enjoyment at the expense of health. Fast food provides satisfaction to a need (hunger), enjoyment and/or convenience, at the expense of health (although there are healthy options now).
I don't get the "what about fast food" argument. I see fast food as having more of a purpose than smoking. And let's not forget that McDonald's has salads and stuff too, so it's not all bad stuff.
I could see this working is if you were really fast at it and still produced really good (if simple) work.
It shouldn't be a problem. I was just stating it just in case.
I could have like, three price tiers: 20, 50 and 100. Most people go into the process of looking for logos with a under $300 mindset, but have trouble!
I like that idea!
I was thinking I only wanted to graphic design as a side-project anyways, so this could be a good idea for me.
As a side project, those prices will be fine. I would think that you could get a lot of demand if you advertise it well.

$20-$50 seems a bit low, honestly. If it normally costs $300-$1,500, I'd charge $100-$200 for a logo of a similar quality. $50 for the really simple logos.
The other thing is that you wouldn't want to seem too cheap, either. You don't want people to believe that you're too good to be true.
Also, I would check to see if there is any regulation on graphics designers. I know it is illegal in some industries to charge below a certain amount for goods and services. I remember a story of a gas station undercutting everyone else in the area and they were ordered to increase their prices. I doubt that graphics designers face something like that, but I would check anyway.
EDIT: Never mind, I actually Googled "cheap logos" and found services offering them for $19 (with stipulation that you can't revise it) and $50.
I could see this working is if you were really fast at it and still produced really good (if simple) work.
And this is the thing, too. If you become too well-known too quickly and are too cheap, you could get overwhelmed with work and that will make you delay your work. You can only be cheap and fast working by yourself for so long before you need to hire someone else, increase prices, be slower, or stop.

Yeah and they continue to build new buildings without adding any parking. They actually TOOK OUT parking so they could throw in a freaking chapel.
Sounds like my community college. They destroyed various parking lots, but for more practical reasons. Like adding new buildings to accommodate more students. Except that this is a community college and literally everyone commutes, so that just makes problems worse. Businesses nearby were getting upset about this because students would park illegally near them.
I'm sorry to hear that. It's really hard to lose a dog, and I should know since I lost mine a bit over 2 weeks ago. I wish you and your family the best at this time.
