The Batman line (yes Batman gets an entire subdivision) has those and also:
The Dark Knight (solo Batman book, I hear not too good) Batman & Robin (Self-explanatory) Red Hood and the Outlaws (Jason Todd goes around partying with Starfire and Red Arrow: the series) Birds of Prety (for some reason)
In addition, Batman is in the Justice League and Justice League International (I think he's still in the former. He was, at least)
Each issue is $2.99, or $1.99 digitally the month after it comes out (which is DUMB). Some titles are bigger and cost $3.99, like Batman.
1. Yes. When the New 52 launched last September, Barbara became Batgirl again. Court of Owls is the first storyline of New 52 Batman, so yeah. 2. Black Mask, I think... 3. I personally did not care for the first few issues and stopped paying attention. YMMV, I know there's people who do like it here so ask them. 4. REBOOTSSSS also I'm pretty sure peyton riley died in the same run she was introduced in. could be remembering that wrong though 5. I think Tony S. Daniel is to blame for this one? Before the relaunch he had Riddler go back again. It's funny because both 4 and 5 were from Dini's run and both got reversed/ignored. Wait, not funny, terrible. 6. ...honestly cannot remember, would have to reread the issue
EDIT: Apparently that girl is named Harper Row and she is a new character of Snyder's. She hasn't appeared since that issue.
From: Pirateking2000 | #235 so why is "The Heir" considered the most powerful?
I don't think that was ever made canon, but I've heard fans speculate. All we can infer from in-story is that the Heir class tends to "inherit" things from destiny or the game or whatever that give him an easier time. Which provides an in-universe explanation of why John gets all this crazy stuff just handed to him - the bunny, the Warhammer, the first to go God Tier - he's got main character powers. The game accommodates him. That said, John is probably one of the strongest characters in Homestuck just due to brute force (he can drill through planets, jesus). The only other Heir we know of is Equius, who loves being STRONG, so I guess that's what led people to link the Heir class with power.
Also this thing with the mind fragment Dirk is pretty weird, but I think the people saying it has something to do with Page powers could be on to something. A page is like an apprentice to someone in higher power than them. With Tavros that instantly makes sense if you consider him to be an "apprentice" to Rufio. With Jake/Dirk it makes less sense...but then I remembered that Dirk was trying to train Jake to make him stronger.
So....I guess Dirk staying around would be a result of Jake's subconscious desire/ability to get stronger? I guess Dirk's Soul abilities could also be involved but the Page explanation makes too much sense now, IMO.
From: Pirateking2000 | #215 time to post in the discussion topics
fully caught up on Homestuck etc
so whats going on everyone / what are the current theories and **** etc?
Biggest one is UU and uu being the same person/split personalities/trapped in one body, but that one is particularly baffling because while there's a lot of evidence to support it, there's also some weird stuff that makes it not as simple. But it still seems to be promising.
Jake being Lord English is also popular. I dunno about that one, I don't think it'll literally be the case but they're probably related somehow. Who knows with Homestuck.
From: JDTAY | #006 Nintendo announces after success of Kid Icarus they're making a new retail Ice Climbers for 3DS.
10/10
Hey, if it's as good as KI:U then I sure as hell wouldn't complain.
Nintendo's presentations have been pretty solid for the last few years outside of GRAPHS. Well, last year's was sort of dumb but hopefully they learned from that. I think Microsoft's is going to be worse; they said they're focusing more on services and not games. Who even knows about Sony, that could go either way.
Finally unlocked ???, in the same run I beat the game with Samson for the first time. After I beat It Lives (who was not really that bad, but he only spawned Monstro 1 and Duke of Flies as bosses for me, both are ez mode), I noticed the boss door was back, so I entered and re-entered...which got me to The Cathedral.
My body was not ready, I died so hard.
I was not nearly OP enough. I had the Meat Head and Robo-Baby and a really fast rate of fire, but almost no hearts, and I had to use Guppy's Paw to convert my hearts to Souls Hearts so I could actually live. it was so bad.
also with all the new bosses I'm pretty sure I'll never get that Meat Boy achievement
I'm beginning to think Mind-Dirk is the actual Dirk. Don't ask me how that would work, but he has precedence for controlling multiple consciousnesses at once, so there's that.
I don't think so. No one else can see him besides Terezi, and I don't know how he'd somehow implant his conciousness inside of Jake's brain. Plus, Terezi is the Seer of mind
I dunno man, seeing Batman and Catwoman screw each other was just all kinds of awkward.
I guess Batwoman also had a sex scene but it was both beautiful and disturbing. Then again the way it was set up was to make that intentional. Pretty awesome storytelling.
From: HeroDelTiempo17 | #040 Problem with making new characters is that no one will want to read them, though. It's hard to get people to pay attention to brand new characters in comics. It kind of sucks. True, but if they are going to make this a publicity stunt (And having the character kiss his boyfriend to introduce his sexuality seems to indicate) then they don't need to use a well known character.
At best nobody is going to pay attention to this At worst the Green Lantern is going to become a gay pride symbol, which really sucks for long term fans who don't want to seem like they are fervent supporters of gay pride just because they have Green Lantern Gear.
I just think its botched all around
Well how would you reveal a charater to be gay in a comic? You kind of have to show it because there's not a lot of room for expositional dialogue. The other option is to have the character announce that he's gay? And you can't just have characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry! Also this Green Lantern is different from the mainstream space cop Green Lanterns, and they have different symbols. But most people probably won't realize that!
And yeah Batwoman is awesome but sadly she probably wouldn't be nearly as popular if she wasn't tangentally related to Batman somehow. Hell her stories barely even deal with him other than taking place in Gotham, she's pretty much just Batwoman because the Bat is a huge symbol. Bunker's different since he's in a team book, which makes it easier to have diverse casts. A Bunker solo series out of nowhere probably would not have done as well.
changing an existing heroes orientation is ridiculous imho

Plus everything about this guy just got rebooted on Earth-2, so it was the perfect opportunity to do so I guess.
Just a shame his gay son doesn't seem to plausibly exist anymore!
or Jade
man, I feel bad for whatever DC female that dates Kyle next. It is just not going to end well.
From: tcaz2 | #002 It's single player + one more person in the world.
So take everything you heard about Saints Row 3 and add having fun with a friend to it.
So sorta like Borderlands?
From: ninkendo | #003 I did some Saints Row 2 multiplayer and I found it annoying for the most part since the person who joins typically just wants to do their own thing. Only one time did I get someone who followed me around for an extended period of time and helped with missions
Yeah that would suck but when I know the guy I'm playing with I assume that won't be an issue.
It's $17 right now on Steam and I'm debating getting it since my friend bought it.
I've heard good things about it and it looks fun to mess around in, but sandbox games aren't usually my thing and I dunno if I could get invested in it unless I was playing it with other people. Haven't touched the first two games, either. So...is the multiplayer good? How does it even work in a sandbox game? <_<
Meenah will probably go up as long as she continues to get screentime, since I like her a lot, but the ones above her have are too established and have too many great moments for her to be that high just yet.
Why make you hate Snow through all 3 books, then try to force you to like him at the end? Why make you feel paranoid about other tributes in the Quarter Quell, then show how nice they are, then kill them? Why make a love triangle between three characters, then make them so openly distant to each other at the end?
Nah, all of these happening, along with Prims dying, would have been fine in concept. Not everything has to have a happy ending.
It's just that all of it did happen, and none of it was pulled off well, AND she tried to pass the ending off as a happy ending. <_<
HDT, maybe Katniss doesn't do a great deal in Mockingjay, but what is she supposed to do? She's too important as a person to send in and let her go Rambo on the opposition. Considering everything she does do in Mockingjay results in her being hurt in some way, that helps to reinforce the notion that she is not superhuman. She's not much use as "the Mockingjay" if she gets killed fighting Peacekeepers in district 8.
Of course she is. By the end the entire plan is to get her killed because she's more use to the rebellion dead than alive. They needed her to do some propaganda videos, sure, but there's no excuse for, say, the Peeta rescue mission, which was summed up in a few paragraphs basically as "The rebels planned a mission to get Peeta back, and then they did, and he was back."
But my main issue with it isn't whether or not it makes sense that Katniss isn't doing anything for most of the plot, it's that a story in which the main character does so does not make for an interesting book. <_<
From: Paratroopa1 | #168 Well, aside from the fact that Aranea seemed to have become who she wanted to be as opposed to who she actually is, I mean, the walls of text, flowery prose, crazy level of detail in exposition, Mindfang was always a total nerd in my mind. We never actually knew Mindfang, anyway, except what she projected herself to be like in her journals. I think people just expected her to be pirate Vriska. I'm glad she's a unique person instead of being pirate Vriska.
They share the shame manner of talking, but no way. Mindfang is a ruthless pirate who like Vriska is self-absorbed in her own misdeeds and destiny. Aranea is really nice and an exposition fetishist. Similar personalities, but not completely the same, like all of the post-scratch analogues, so I wouldn't consider them the same person.
Plus she seems to speak of post-scratch Alternia with some distaste. I don't think Mindfang is specifically the person she wanted to be, just someone she idolizes because Mindfang actually went on adventures, raping and plundering and murdering her way across a planet. Aranea obviously is obsessed with stories, so that's cool to her, especially considering her own adventure was reduced to futility in the end.
It's an interesting angle on a character but god damn her personality ruins it.
From: Tehmoosey1 | #146 Alright. I know that quite a few people have been jumping the gun, saying that Aranea suddenly becomes okay when she does something moderately interesting, and they were wrong before.
But this is certainly Aranea's best scene.
this
still not enough to pull her out of "worst troll" tier, though
It's not even that she's bad anymore, she's just incredi8ly 8land
Nothing major has changed except for stuff in Guy and Kyle's backstories, mostly due to associations with people they knew being different. For example, since the original JLI never happened, no one knows who Martian Manhunter is. Kyle in particular is a huge mess since a lot of people he associated with don't seem to even exist anymore. Jade, for example, has not been mentioned at all, and because of the ripple effect, Soranik Natu has also not shown up since the reboot. Anyway he got thrown on New Guardians, a team-centric book, while the writers sort it out.
Other major stuff is kind of being glossed over, but we can assume all the big stuff still happened.
As for since Blackest Night, there was a bunch of cool leadup and then a Green Lantern called War of the Green Lanterns. Basically, Krona comes back and tries to destroy the Guardians and the Corps in order to create a new order based on emotion. However, he is insane, so Hal kills him with WILLPOWER. This scares the s*** out of the Guardians so they strip him of his ring and kick him out. Then, Sinestro gets chosen by a green ring and no one can get it off, so he's back in the Corps and the "star" of the GL series. First thing he does is go to Hal and make him his sidekick. Currently, all of the Corps have some big problem they're trying to fix, probably leading up to another GL event.
If you're just now getting into comics, Green Lantern is not really a newbie-friendly series unless you've been keeping up with the Lantern mythos since Johns started his run back with GL: Rebirth. Especially not issue #9 of the current series, which is basically a huge chunk of exposition where they reveal stuff they've been building up to ever since Blackest Night, which happened a few years ago. But yeah if you do ever want to get caught up on the GL saga, it's really awesome and one of my favorite things at DC.
I would definitely look into Batman, as it's very accessible and awesome right now. I think a collection of the first few issues just came out?
If you like the current run of Batman, I'd look into picking up The Black Mirror, which is written by the same author. Same with the current Swamp Thing series which is one of DC's best books right now, alongside Animal Man. I mean there's tons of old but recent trades you could pick up, it really depends on what you're looking for.
My biggest problem with Mockingjay isn't Prims's death (although the manner it was handled was really awful), but it's that Katniss herself does absolutely nothing the entire book. Until the last act, her purpose is to sit around and occasionally throw out a speech about friendship and freedom or whatever while the people around her do things that are far more interesting but are never elaborated upon.
Then when you do get to the final act where she actually starts to DO something, whoops, turns out it was all a pointless distraction so that more characters could get killed off and she could see Prims die.
Katniss as a character became spectacularly bad after THG as well.
Ugh I beat the Dr. Fetus challenge earlier but it didn't unlock anything in the game. The Achievement unlocked after the update earlier, but I don't know if I unlocked whatever the hell because I didn't get any notifications.
It could be possible that the session scratched before she "respawned?"
The other possibility is that she tried to stop Meenah, but IIRC they were conspiring together to do it? I think she mentioned that but hell if I'm wading through all of Aranea's exposition again.
part of me sincerely hopes that this is the only elaboration we get on them besides maybe one or two the other part of me is going "yesssssssssssssssssss....new charactersssssssssssssssssssssss"
