It came out that he was lying about a bunch of things related to the Billy Mitchell lawsuit he lost. He did apologize, sort of, but I think more broadly this completionist video is evidence that he doesn't have the self control to stop chasing YouTube drama because it made him way more views then his usual speedrunning stuff.

I used to follow his channel because it was cool when a video would pop up about some brand new GoldenEye world record and he does a pretty good job of highlighting the techniques and breaking down what makes the record impressive. However, ever since the Billy Mitchell stuff most of his videos are just junk and drama that I have no interest in watching, so I ended up unsubscribing simply because what he was putting out was more garbage than content I actually cared about.

While he never "lied" directly , he strongly implied Mitchell's lawsuit was about cheating in video games. Even months after Billy dropped those suits and the only remaining one was about ApolloLegends suicide. Jobst never made that clear.

It's shady, especially after he called out Jirad for doing the pretty much same thing.

That said, people attacking Karl here is weird to me. Jirad is a lying asshat and it's weird to be mad at people for pointing that out.

ESPECIALLY when Jirad explicitly threatened lawsuits, then lied about about and insulted the people he threatened.

I liked Karls speed running videos, didnt mind the Billy Mitchell stuff, but honestly, after the reveal on Jirads charity issues and brief follow up, it feels like he just kept trying to strike gold on a dead topic.

It may not like to recommend such videos unless you have a certain kind of watch history? It does however monetise long form videos quite well as I understand it. The trick though is you need to have the sort of videos where people sit and watch the whole damn thing.

God help...watching most of it. Still going after a napping during it.

He's burying jirard, and some accounted who discredited him and muta - alot of it is him repeating clips to ask "have you noticed?" and bringing receipts.

He's right...while he's still reckless, the BM loss made him more dangerous, petty,and vicious with the take downs. The video necessitates its length. Still think he's slipped up somewhere to be sued again.

Edit: Continuing to work with/support the same company who you felt mis used your mom's body parts is pretty damming. Jirard has worked with them for over a decade after.
