If I ever experience it happening at a fast food/sit down restaurant its an instant black list. I know it just happens sometimes if its overcooked but its absolutely nasty.

I'm okay when it's the occasional bite, sometimes things slip through and it just didn't get butchered/cut perfectly.

Every bite, though, you might as well get arrested for withcraft because you are desecrating that dead chicken.

That's what made McDonald's a no go for me. I enjoyed their chicken sandwiches, but like twice in a row a huge chunk of it was exactly as you described. Basically inedible.

You can toughen chicken by cooking it too quickly, but most of the time it's because it's been bred badly. I've never experienced it in the US (haven't lived there in over 10 years though) but I get it all the time here in New Zealand. I find it's most common in the winter.
