There aren't even review copies for this game, so as long as youre playing it at release then spoilers shouldn't really be an issue.

People have been analyzing the demo extensively already, and even before that, there were people cobbling together bits of information from all over to conclude aspects of the worldbuilding and the map. That was just with isolated scraps disseminated over 6 years.

There's no lighting issues in HK. Ulti just has viewing/display issues.

In my review I took a screenshot of the Zote fight that perfectly shows my issue with the games lighting. Coincidentally, the P5 run I just did for fun stopped right there for the same old reason. The lighting is garbage in Hollow Knight.

I challenge anyone to defend that junk existing at all. And dont give me atmosphere, because you can do that without intentionally blinding the player. The fact I got a legit platinum in that game while half blind is a borderline miracle.

I got the plat on PS4 too and not once did I have an issue seeing anything. I can see Zote just fine in that screenshot too. No one has to defend it because no one else has these issues. Also I don't think they made Silksong brighter because one guy on GameFAQs complained about the lighting when 99.9% of fans of a very popular game didn't care at all

Well I only put that part in there because you said "the devs acknowledged as much" which I don't think is true. If they said that somewhere I will be happy to eat crow. Regardless I hope Silksong is a more enjoyable experience for you

So this has sort of been baffling to me-- looking at your screenshot of the Zote fight, it looks far darker than I remember. But it suddenly triggered a memory for me-- does your TV have an HDR setting enabled?

The reason I ask is because there's a setting on my monitor for HDR, and when I played Resident Evil 8, I could barely see anything any time I entered a slightly dark area.

Yeah this is how I remember it. I think what's happening is that Hollow Knight's spotlight effect around your character is somehow being combined with a setting that's trying to maximize the difference between light and dark. That's why I suspected it was an HDR setting, but it's possible there's some other hidden setting on his display that's fucking things up.

They'd sell well more than half the copies at double that price. But Team Cherry won't do that.

I always assumed it would be $25.

It's also day 1 on Gamepass which is pretty weird honestly unless they got a massive bag from Microsoft.

I have Game Pass but tempted to buy it on Switch 2 anyway just so I can play on the go

My plan is to get it on Switch 2, but it seems like random games have been having weird performance issues stemming from technically being Switch 1 games so I'll probably wait a few days until we know if it's got similar problems.

It seems like this will have an actual Switch 2 version, since it has a 120 FPS mode on Switch 2. Those games with technical issues are just being played via backwards compatibility I think.
