VR is cool as a gimmick, but it isnt there as a serious gaming platform. I think part of the problem is games leaned too hard into it. Rather than trying to make everything virtual, go for a milder ground where I have a first person VR view, but still use a controller to move around. I was hyped but it's basically half virtual boy, half Wii. Most devs took absolutely 0 advantage of the immersion aspect and just slung out mini games. I love VR, and my Quest 2 is a good headset but it's not comfortable. My Google Daydream was much nicer to wear. The Google Daydream (maybe other phone VR sets too, though I'm not sure) is the only way to play Blade Runner: Revelations, which is AMAZING. It's a very simple game without free-movement; it's basically VR point-and-click, but the graphics, atmosphere, and story are fantastic. My Quest 2 has been good for Resident Evil 4 VR, VR Chat, and movies, but I don't like wearing it for long periods of time and I'm not upgrading to a Quest 3. It's good but not great.
