An interesting discussion came about: does the Mesopotamia region count as a single civilization or multiple? On one hand, yes, they are different civilizations in different time periods. But it's all in the same area and the civilizations are relatively small enough that I think most of us would confuse which civilization is which. I'd also argue that the other civilizations are also centralized to a region and not necessarily the same civilization over a long period of time like China or Rome.

So I combined the various Mesopotamian civilizations and it takes a solid second. I'm a bit surprised China was so far behind compared to the others.

For fun, here is the data with the civilizations separated. We would still get the same result, roughly.

McNuggets is a good call too hmm. That Muffin thing belongs in the trash and I have never met a person irl that doesn't agree so not gonna support it.

Yeah I'm honestly surprised with these Egg McMuffin over the MFin SUPERIOR breakfast sammy of choice: The McGriddles. I mean, sure one came first, but being early is just a stepping stone for being perfect.

(And while I prefer the QP/C to the BM, the Mac is much more iconic, has its own theme song , and I didn't want TWO burgers on the Rushmore so decisions had to be made.)

I think you absolutely need one breakfast item here, if anything it might even be just as popular as lunch/dinner

shoutout to the quarter pounder, was the second item i put on the list by far the toughest cut but i really wanted egg mcmuffin and nuggets on there. i'd always pick the double qp over the big mac

smaller shoutout to coffee and mcflurries or all the stuff i never get

Also I kinda associate Sumeria as a whole with the whole Mesopotamian era, Assyria and Babylon just feel like extensions

My impression is that the breakfast menu exists so the workers can catch a break and I have never heard of anyone enjoying then so I stick to my choices. But might swap a burger for the nuggets.

people (including me) definitely enjoy the breakfast, and at least my location is very busy at breakfast. i might like their regular menu more but i practically never get it other than breakfast.

this might be a cultural thing then, McDonalds breakfast was pretty popular here because it was the first one to really do it (and genuinely may still be the best at it)

the only one i really have ever is the big brekkie burger which wouldn't surprise me if it's just an au/nz exclusive (usually with the egg subbed for an extra hash brown since i'm just not good with egg in burgers tbh)

re: mcmuffins: I am ovo intolerant and I still go out of my way to get them sometimes and suffer the consequences. I'd say 90% of the time I go to McD it's for a a mcmuffin/hashbrown/coffee combo.

re: mcgriddles: I feel like I'm actively getting diabetes if I eat one the syrup in the bread is too much

Also I miss all day breakfast because you could get a Mc1035 all the time (McMuffin/McDouble together).

No I'd pick the McGriddle

I'd also pick fries over McNuggets and Quarter Pounder over Big Mac and basically anything over the McRib.

My rushmore is about infamy not my favorites.

I think I would pick the biscuit sandwich but the egg McMuffin is close

mcgriddle was nice when I was ten

also dont get Sonics breakfast it was genuinely the worst thing Ive ever eaten (that didnt almost kill me with an allergic reaction/food poisoning)

Yeah, this is not a personal preference Rushmore. I don't like the McRib either but they make a big deal about it being a seasonal item, so it makes the Rushmore that way. Don't think I've ever had a Big Mac, but it's their most famous burger.

so it's definitely not making my list lol

The only drive thru breakfast I've actually liked enough to make a point to go for it when I'm not dying of starvation and in a huge hurry is a local coffee place Pinon Coffee House.

Their breakfast burritos are great.

I will say my second favorite breakfast menu, price aside, is probably Starbucks, but lord you pay like 3x as much as Mcdonalds for 1/2 the food.

Honestly around here a lot of gas stations (Wawa/Sheetz/Quickchek/Royal Farms etc) do a pretty quality job for breakfast thats a good bang for your buck

Hardee's (or Carl's Jr.) has the best drive thru breakfast hands down

McDonald's isn't bad though

I think a lot of gas stations subcontract to local small businesses that specialize in breakfast. At least they do around here. So yeah they're definitely decent and I'd put a lot of them over Mcdonalds too. Though usually not drive thru, technically.

Breakfast is probably a cultural thing yeah. And the Mcmuffin burger did make it over here.

The McRib I'm pretty certain is not a thing in the vast majority of countries so I would say it shouldn't be on.

McRib has infamy in being "limited edition" fast food. It's more of the gimmick status than anything. I could easily swap it for the McDonald's fries though which are pretty distinctive and I feel kinda bad not including.
