As someone who's only played through Apollo Justice

I like The Judge but he wouldn't be top 10 for me, and Ema honestly kinda annoys me in AJ so she wouldn't be there either. And obviously the characters I don't know yet I don't know. But the others I like in Top 10!

1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 15, 16 remain for me

Which is nice. Means all the top 10 are among characters I actually think are the best in the series.

My first was Trials and Tribulations. Then I immediately bought the other two.

I can't imagine the OT with the stiff of a judge we get in GAA. It just wouldn't work.

No I've been making sure to play in order, so in a way yea kinda got stopped by AJ lol. I still enjoyed it for what it was, but definitely a step down compared to the trilogy.

Hard disagree. The judge has a pretty well defined personality. I mean yes he exists to be a judge and so his screentime to well characterized dialogue isn't 100% but there are definitely quirks to HOW he does that that let who the judge is come out. He's just as much a character as anyone in the game like I really don't get it.

yeah I'm just playfully trolling mostly. but I think he'd be more like 30-40 range for me.

edit: and also if I seriously consider his showing in AAI-4 I actually think that hurts him quite a bit, because that case is so stupid and everyone in it acts stupid because writing, I guess

Susato Mikotoba is a judicial assistant to Ryunosuke Naruhodo. And I hope she's Phoenix Wright's ancestor, becuase she and Ryunosuke belong together. As a Judicial assistant, she's one of the most helpful ones (and without spirit channeling!). She definitely feels like an assistant. Of course she's also a defense attorney in the tutorial of the second game, which is brilliant. It's just an amazing way to do a tutorial instead of having the main character get amnesia or something. Susato has a lot of great moments. Particularly using the cat door to create a window in the pawn shop making it so Ashley Graydon gets caught. She's our first member of the Top 10, and one of the best assistant characters. She's not really a clone of Maya Fey in terms of personality. And her knowledge of the law proves extremely useful. especially regarding the jury. Also Susato Takedown is pretty awesome. At least when it's not being used on poor Ryunosuke. But at least she's the most competent (probably?) assistant in the series. Also her theme is really peaceful and serene and fits her so perfectly. And her objection theme is great too.

I really like her but Im mostly just frustrated that the GAA games sort of gloss over her character arc, you think shes ready to break the glass ceiling but then theyre like no none of that. GAA2 has such a weird dismissiveness of literally all of its female characters - Paratroopa1

I really like Susato 95% of the time. Almost as much as Maya. But I will never understand why Capcom thinks physical abuse is so god damn funny, and every time she throws our protagonist, I die a little on the inside. - MrSmartGuy

I've cooled slightly on Godot, but his theme is STILL my ringtone. Because yeah, it's great. I think the more I thought about him, the more coffee-like he becomes. Way too bitter. But he's still really high on my list. (Of course part of the reason he fell is also new characters, but yeah). Godot is obsessed with coffee. 17 cups every trial. I don't think I could drink that much coffee in a week! Also his boast that he's undefeated as a prosecutor is funny because it's only technically true. He's also never won a case. But his story itself is very strong, even if his motives are extremely questionable. His actions are clearly desperation, without thinking. So they fit him well. The conclusion to his story is also really satisfying because it shows growth. He realizes his mistakes, that he should have went to Phoenix from the beginning, and he wasnt' realy helping Maya because if he wanted to help maya, he would have went to Phoenix Wright first.

My #7. I've soured a bit on Godot over time. He's still fantastic, but his flaws start to become more apparent when you begin to scrutinize his actions over the course of the game. First off, straight up misogynist! Not the best quality to have! Second, while he's always portrayed as being cool and collected, and capable of extreme forethought, his plan for 3-5 fucking sucks. Instead of nipping it all in the bud, he just.... lets it all happen for no reason, and then blames it on Phoenix. What the hell was he supposed to do? Anyway, while those are two fairly extreme flaws, he's still quite the badass, and he makes every other case he's involved in tense and exciting. He's not the best prosecutor, which makes sense, considering he's never done it before, but he makes up for it with his witty one-liners and smooth coffee drinking. - MrSMartGuy

Maybe I'm being unfair to her. In better circumstances she could honestly be a top 5 character - but when I think about her and her role in GAA2 it only makes me feel bitter. She's given nothing to do and has an incomplete character arc and it just frustrates me

If I remember well the formula works in a way a character is more likely to rank higher the more rankings they appear in (obviously unless that character is tanked)

I meant how did you forget to rank him when he's on the list lol. Did you not use the lists?

I love Susato and I feel like she's fine in GAA2. Maybe I need to replay it but I didn't get the impression she was overlooked or underrepresented

Yeah sure I did, I just didn't double check at the end and was sure I has ranked him already. I had even forgotten Franziska at first.

No, characters receive makeup points to account for being left off lists. You would have lowered his percentage VERY slightly with a rank of 21st. His percentage would go from 90.48% to 90.39% (Probably wouldn't have changed his rank at all)

That sounds possible to happen with a list this big, yeah.

Susato is great. I want to see more of her.

Godot is really cool. He's got aura, as kids nowadays would put it. He's got a pretty tragic and emotional backstory too.

Now I worry my #176 might win the whole thing and I would be their lowest ranker. >_>
