I was parked underground three levels down. For those abroad, it's 42.77 c, and the high today is 117f, or 47.22 c.

I remember when I was 15 and visited my Mom in Nevada and she said it was going to be 114 that day and I legit was thinking I would die. Then I realized it was like being in the 80's back home without the humidity after experiencing it. I was like "This is it?"

Yes direct sunlight was hot, and damn near burned my leg through the windshield in my black shorts but stepping into the shade made everything really tolerable. 95 with high humidity is so much fucking worse than 115 and you will never change my mind.

This entire planet is getting so hot that it feels like an emergency.

My state packed in so many
people that it got insanely hot over the past decade or so. We destroyed our ozone layer and now the outdoor temperatures are routinely 100 and the UV index is almost always 10/10. The high UV makes our homes get WAY hotter. I had to buy a pack of poster board from Walmart and tape it up in all the western windows/doors until summer is over. You feel like youre standing under a giant magnifying glass outside, but I used to always be out there.

My apartment skyrocketed to 90+ the other day (thats as high as the thermostat would show). I was genuinely sitting in my room thinking that I was going to die in my 30s because I literally could not cool down my apartment. I was almost in a state of panic and I am literally considering moving even further north to escape this modern heat that WE CREATED.

If you have no AC in your home, you need to have a plan to deal with heat waves.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I'm currently outside in 104 degree dry heat and I agree with this 104%. This is way the fuck nicer than lesser heat with humidity.

I like to take cold showers right before bed in summer. I lay my head on the pillow while my hair is still dripping wet

Made the mistake, once, of riding my motorcycle is triple digit temps. No helmet, thinking it would be cooler (temperature wise). Never again, it felt like the wind was burning my face off. I'd rather ride in freezing temps than that.

I have an outdoor gym and sometimes lift weights in triple digit temperatures, but it's definitely a dry California heat and I know that makes a huge difference.

Worse than lifting outside is sparring at my boxing gym in the summer. Wearing headgear in hot weather makes you feel like you're suffocating and is far worse than sunlight. I had to overcome anxiety attacks and resist telling the corner coach giving me water that I need to quit after the 1st round when I started. It was the head heat rather than the punches that got to me.

I thought I was escaping the humidity when I left SC but NYC just traps heat and moisture. At least I get winter to look forward to now.

People say the humidity is bad but I disagree--it's the sun itself that's the worst part of it all. Absolutely brutal. Give me an overcast humid day and I'll be a little uncomfortable and live but that sun will literally kill you.
