Why would I support Nintendo?

I was hoping to get one for Bananza, but I'm not sure I can spare $500+ this month.

No but I will definitely pick it up at a later date. But my Switch 1 barely got used. I don't give a shit about handheld gaming or portability. It stays docked 100% of the time and I will never play any game on it I can play on Playstation. So I only get it for a few games. I'm in no rush right now.

I'm a Rune Factory fanboy but it is possible that game is coming to Playstation so I'm waiting. Outside that I would need a new Xenoblade game or Animal Crossing. Until then I will wait.

I'm happy it is out though. All I wanted was a more powerful Switch 1. Don't reinvent the wheel. They gave me what I wanted. Now I just need a game or two I want to play.

I'm waiting to see how the next fire emblem will be like. I hope nintendo takes advantage of the switch 2's hardware and attempt a actual huge-battles type of fire emblem. (I am thinking something like dynasty warriors origins when it comes to the army scale). Still want it to be a strategy game of course, but I want to see proper armies vs armies on the screen.

No. I posted a topic related to this earlier today on here and it sounds like the major draw of a switch 2 at the moment is playing your old switch 1 games again. I have no interest in doing that whatsoever.

Yeah this is where I'm at when it comes to the switch in general.

I bought my first switch just so I can get up on super mario odyssey, and played smash ultimate and fire emblem as they came along. Also some xenoblade. Other than those select nintendo IPs I am waiting until the next release I'm interested in comes along. My switch goes through some lengthy periods of non-use since I have no need for portable gaming day to day, and I always have other consoles (or my PC) to play 3rd party games on. *These days the PS5 pro is the automatic default platform unless something goes horrifically wrong with the PS5 version of whatever.*

When I buy nintendo platforms its solely for the purpose of playing games I can only play there, so its going to be awhile before I bother with a switch 2.

For what its worth my brother brought his switch 2 over and I do dig how bigger the screen is+how quick things like the eshop now loads up. Yet the switch 2 is not as "rotund" as the steam deck so that is nice to me, lol.

Nah - I won't get one for at least a couple years. I still have a large steam, PS4, and Switch backlog of games.

I don't even really care for the Switch as a console/portable. I do like some of the Nintendo exclusive games, but I treat it like any other console and leave it connected to the TV. The switch also has weird controllers that I don't like - Ever since getting the Pro controller that is the only controller I use with it.

Ordered Day 1 but Target didn't deliver until the week after... Which got me a free $50 Nintendo gift card which was nice

Definitely not in the next year, until I actually have some time when I could play it. I haven't even finished a single PS5 game since I bought that console a year and a half ago, so buying new stuff is completely on pause.

i could afford one if i wanted to. but i prefer having a big backlog of PS games to pick from.

I waited 7 years to get Switch 1, I'm good.

I barely played the first Switch, 90% was playing Mario Kart or Party with CEmen. I haven't turned it on in 6+ months, so i'm likely not getting a Switch 2 at all.

Since Day 1.

Put a couple hours into Mario Kart. Maybe 5 to 7 into BOTW to see how it plays. Maybe 10 into Binding of Isaac.

That's it. Been sitting in the case otherwise.

Where the games?

Theres not been anything announced for it that is a system seller for me.

Had a switch lite that every time I wanted to use had a dead battery and by the time it was plugged in and charged enough to use i moved on. Got a S2 a few days ago and already finding myself playing it more that I was despite having like 6 regular switch games for it. Took me like a month to find one since i did not get one on release and not regretting it at all, was concerned if I waited until Legends ZA or closer to Xmas when more stuff was out it would be hard to find again, or the prices would have gone up because tariffs or something.

Probably won't bother until Pokemon Gen 10 drops unless my current switch craps out before that

Nah, no plans on getting one anytime soon. I think they came out with an iteration of the OG Switch with a better battery. I guess I'll wait for that.

OLED or "pro" model someday but no reason whatsoever to get one now. Prices are prohibitive. Can't be lighting money on fire for this kind of stuff rn.

I don't play my Switch 1 enough to worry about getting another. Switch 2 seems overpriced to me since it's a gen behind in performance and costs pretty much the same as the competition.

Not yet. Possibly this year, probably next year.

I'm happy with the switch lite.
I don't know if I'm gonna get the switch 2 anytime soon, since I already have ps5 and a entry level gaming laptop/handheld pc.

Generally speaking though, I'm either online on the ps5 or PC. Occasionally I'll hop onto the switch, but I can't find myself getting nintendo online since I'm already on psn+ premium.

What makes the switch appealing for me is that it's almost like the steam store, where you'll see lots of 3rd party games that might get heavily discounted from time to time and you can even click on the publishers/developers name which will lead you straight to their page where you can find a catalog of their games that are available for the switch.

I feel like the switch 1 handles my gaming needs, so in that sense I'm not in a major rush to upgrade

Nope I stopped buying consoles I barely play them. I'm more of a PC guy.

Nope and 0 interest in Nintendo any more due to their practices and behavior with this system.
