It was my first online multiplayer game, and I loved it.

MMO: The Secret World. It and its F2P reboot are still alive in maintenance mode but the community is gone. I've just never played a game like this with a modern day setting and modern weapons with a supernatural theme to it. The missions were dope AF too.

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair

so damn fun to play. i played on and off from like 2010-2015. tried a few times to get on and play the years since, especially after they put them on ps4/xbox one but they only had the base game and not chapters 8-11 which sucked. been hoping they'd bring that back and partner it with iga and bloodstained to revive it and add more characters and levels to it. but that's just a dream.

I would honestly love a new game like this. Could be Castlevania again or something else with the same gameplay loop. It was such a fun time.

I've been going back and playing it with some friends one night a week recently. Still just as fun as it used to be.

Hot Shots Golf Out of Bounds. I liked the G0 tournaments. I was one of the best international server players for a solid year or two while playing tournies. It was so fun and I loved the series and this was the pinnacle of the series. Even after I stopped playing tournies a friend and I played online stroke play a couple times a week for 5 years until the server was shut down.

Such a shame how bad the PS4 game was in 2017. Hopefully the title in September ends up reversing course on how bad that PS4 game was. At least they went back to preset characters and brought back advanced shots.

I hardly ever touch online and multiplayer even less so, so this was very rare for me to enjoy so much.

I do love me some online golf.

I used to be obsessed with everything about golf.

Definitely Castlevania Harmony of Despair, but also Warhammer Online, but, the caveat is actually for what it was like in Beta. For some reason the beta was so much better, mostly I think for server population, once they opened up servers there were too many and it was deadish, I still played for a fair bit after as the skirmishes were fun if people really got into it.

The 3rd from somehow never getting a sequel and being replaced by absolute trash (Battle Stadium DON, J-Stars Victory Vs and Jump Force).

Mass Effect 3 and the Red Faction Guerilla both had really fun multiplayer back in the day

But it was always so satisfying to beat cheaters. Like how bad do you have to be to lose with infinite SP while also using a character who can just stop time forever with that lol

StarCraft: Brood War

It might still exist but the hundreds of hours spent playing UMS maps as a kid will never be possible for me again.

Space: Glory Through Conquest.

Each player started with one planet and a couple bad spaceships. Over time (a full game would take a couple months), ~100 players explored a galaxy of a ~1000 planets, building up infrastructure to build better and better ships. After the first week, new territory became scarce, at which point players have to start invading their neighbors to keep growing. Lose all your planets, game over, sign up for the next galaxy. At its peak, a new one would fill up every few days, so even bad players like me could try again with little downtime.

There's a fan made reconstruction, but they're missing a lot of features of the original game, and the player base is too small to be enjoyable.

I miss the pc Aliens vs Predator 2 in the early 2000s. It had some cool multi-player modes

In one everyone is a marine except 1 alien. Everytime a marine dies they respawn as an alien until the last marine falls. The winner I think was that last marine who endured the longest

When it comes to official versions, phantasy star online episode 1 and 2 and/or phantasy star online blue burst easily.

I absolutely loved me some PSO and the community for these games was great. (Although there was still a pocket of people that lived to make your live miserable via things like player killing or trying to crash your console/malicious gameshark/code breaker etc. codes, but its something all online games deal with at some point or another). I met my life-long best friends all thanks to phantasy star online.

PSO does have a fan community that keeps the games running via fan-servers, but I would love to have a modern port for these games and just play them again as they were on the gamecube/xbox or PC for blue burst.

My dream video game release is for phantasy star online episode 1 and 2 to get the similar treatment that diablo 2 got for it's re-release. Updated graphics (sega could take the cel-shaded option they added to PSO2 new genesis and work with this), touch up the gameplay system a tad (with the timed 3 button presses for your attacks. Phantasy star universe expansion's system is a good base to use for this one imo since this also kept the 3 timed button presses for strong attacks, but has a photon arte system you can use).....PSO's extra attack button must stay though since this is what made finding rares cool) and that'll be all I ask for.

Exteel for sure. Mecha BREAK is a great unofficial successor to it, though.

I was so addicted to this game, lol.

My platform of choice was the 360 version, and I had like every single character geared up and leveled up if they used sub-weapons. My most used character was shanoa.

I agree castlevania harmony of despair was crazy fun and I would really like a part 2 that has crossplay with all modern consoles+PC.

An MMO called Wonderking. It was called The "MapleStory killer" but it was just a lot of fun to play. What's worse is that an English version has been "coming back" got years, just getting our hopes up over and over

Even though this game is still up gears of war 3.

I actually enabled a game pass sub for 1 dollar for 2 weeks about a week back just so I can play a team deathmatch game or 3. There is only a very small handful of mostly south american players that is left and so the player-hosted rooms is pretty damn laggy more often than not, but the fun is still there.

I want this game to get a remaster and then released on the PS5 so very badly.

Literally nothing like it to take its place. Every dev just wants to chase the Hero Shooter or Battle Royale trends. No one is brave enough to innovate with an MMOFPS
