So, I'm taking in all this news in a bit of a haze (this fucking heatwave man, the humidity) but from what I can tell... Both sides kept bombing each other up until the ceasefire officially took effect at midnight EST (not uncommon. Israel has done this itself in previous ceasefires, even World War I there was a 6 hour window where the ceasefire was agreed to but it took effect in 6 hours but they still let the troops fight until then and like 2700 people died in that time) Iran seems to have launched a strike after this window closed (I don't know if Israel did first, until I can clear the timeline up I'll tentatively assume it was Iran who was the first to launch after midnight EST for the moment.) Iran then stated that they considered it now in effect. It seems Netanyahu and Israel then were going to just tear up the ceasefire and launch a massive retaliation in response to this violation but Trump tried to get them to scale it down to save his ceasefire. It sounds like, maybe, both sides trying to get in "the last word" in that kind of petty way... only with missiles and human lives at stake. This morning though, Trump seems pissed at the threat of "his" deal falling through - and mostly at Israel. He's been screaming at them in all caps on social media to turn their planes around (and do a "plane wave????") and stop.
