I played it extremely late but found it just dreadfully boring and tedious. The big multi-character missions were neat but my goodness was there a lot of nothing between them. The parts where you're just tasked with driving a vehicle for miles and miles across California highways under zero threat were particularly offensive to me - I can already do that in real life, it's called my morning commute!

I beat every GTA from 2 to IV (including Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony) but never finished V. Just didn't care for its characters or missions at all, especially Trevor. Outside of the missions and main story it was impressive though.

I remember liking it less than 4 or San Andreas but it was still pretty great, though I have no frame of reference for whatever it's become post-story mode.

I found it really disappointing when I first played it, but I've grown to like it more and more as time went on. In the end, while it's not a great GTA, it still is a pretty fun open-world urban environment game.

I'll never forgive GTA Online for basically killing all chances of it getting any single-player DLC though. And THAT game is trash. If that's counted along with this I might feel like taking an extra point off....
