As far as main console games go, they had 2 games on PS1, 2 games on PS2 and 1 game on PS3 but then later ported a really good Vita title to PS3 as well giving it two titles. The PS3 title was Out of Bounds and it was the best in the series by far. Simply amazing. It came out in 2008. I played it for thousands of hours for years with a friend playing it weekly for 5 years until the server was killed. Best game ever. We waited and waited and waited on a PS4 title and finally after 9 fucking years they gave us one and it was DOGSHIT. They completely changed and ruined everything about the series they had spent 20 years building. It is fucking horrible and no long time fan that I knew liked it. They all thought it was terrible. We waited 9 years to just be incredibly disappointed. They never had a robust online tournament mode like 5 did. It was the last title developer Clap Hanz worked on. That was 8 years ago. So we waited 9 years to get shit and that shit is now 8 years old. We haven't seen a main console proper Hot Shots Golf game since 2008 and I'm fucking bitter about it. I'm normally very laid back and chill and non vocal about complaints, but I whine about this one. My friend and I still talk about this regularly to this day and both grumble about it. There is actually a new game slated to come out this year, but Clap Hanz is not involved and they were the devs since the 2nd game in 2000. Them not being involved doesn't give me confidence. From a trailer it looks like they are trying to rectify some of the damage of the shitty ps4 game and ditched avatars to go back to set characters which is a big plus. But it still looks like it is traditional swing only and it remains to be seen if they will change other shitty mechanics they brought into that atrocious PS4 game. So yeah long drawn out way to say I'm salty. I'm very salty. I was hyped for the PS4 game. You could run around! But yea, it sucked. Have you played the mobile game? Mercenaries never getting ported or remastered or a good sequel. There were so many decent quality games period in the PS2 era, and a lot of them just ended after one or two games. Games were cheaper and simpler to make then but I guess there was also so much competition for customers that a lot of really good games never sold enough copies to make it worth continuing as a series. And then using the thing for platforming puzzles was a just plain ridiculous idea even if they hadn't turned out awkward and weird in execution, and the kicker is these two modes make up like 70% of the side content and a fair bit of the main story missions. Lazy_Haar 05/27/25 9:39:37 AM #98:	Off the top of my head, ranked by salt level: The Star Wars sequel trilogy Fire Emblem Fate's writing Mass Effect 3's ending Dragon Age after II (mostly due to Inquisition's gameplay and Veilguard's writing, though II itself is also divisive and I kinda wish they'd kept the same style of gameplay/writing of Origins throughout the series) Halo 4 and onwards There's probably more, but even most of the ones I listed are pretty minor to me as it is. Like not being able to gain experience outside of missions (and youre basically screwed if you finish everything and didnt upgrade something you want / need to), practically no predator challenge areas, some characters looking off (and not just in a well its just that the graphics are better kind of way), etc. The Batmobile (especially tank battles) was definitely overused lol. I actually thought it would be interesting to be taking a dog around the multiverse with them.
