Just wanted to make sure we had a fresh topic for the finale tomorrow. And Dragon Sound would LOVE this season.

oh and fun news, two of my friends are on the ~alleged~ TAR Canada cast list for the upcoming season

one of them in particular is the most deserving person possible, so unbelievably stoked for him

Don't listen to any casting rumor before filming starts. For any show. The Survivor 50 list online is probably wrong in some way, though at least this one isn't like WaW where there's a very limited pool to choose from (so the fake cast list was mostly correct).

Also I like 48 too

I'm glad they pushed back the cast reveal to at least give 49 a small window where people care about them.

I have really liked this season too. Assuming we get a non-Mitch winner it will end up as my third favorite New Era season so far.

I have been calling Mitch as a finale boot since very early on. And he will probably get the Humane exit music. Its been a few seasons since we have heard that (Im surprised none of the 4th through 6th place boots got it last season).

Finally watched the TAR finale right before bed last night and I gotta say I hate the editing at the end of the prior leg. Trying to make it a "race to the finish" when they clearly established that Jonathan & Ana finished the mosaic first in the chyron, then didn't make any mistakes after.... I'm sorry, but that's really dumb. They do that way too often and it's so stale. The finish line did not have this, at least, since it was just as obvious an outcome.

Always do enjoy the Final Task. A huge puzzle with the usual memory element was par for the course. It's good to wrap up a season by reminding viewers of where they'd been, too.

Also, apparently Jonathan was referred to a neuropsych eval after the show where he was diagnosed as being on the spectrum. This is straight from his mouth, btw.

Mitch isnt even TRYING to make a Hail Mary to get through tonight. Hes just saying oh well. Classic Mitch.

Like, Im sorry, hes the sweetest person on planet earth, but he was BY FAR the worst player this season. And he was FRUSTRATINGLY bad, not hilariously so like Cedrek

Mitch has been the ONE bad thing about this post-merge for me.

"Everybody likes you" is such a dumb reason to vote somebody out, especially if said person has been a follower all game and done nothing proactive. Kyle telling Joe the lie about Shauhin having an idol is proactive, even if that's all the work Kyle put in. What does Mitch have? Can't think of any move he made that would get him a vote over a strategic force who's also liked... except for David's vote.

Star looks totally disinterested. Between her, Chrissy, David and Shauhin, I cant WAIT for how bitter this jury is going to be.

This is a REALLY good final 4. Every single one of them COULD win, and would make a SOLID winner, based off the edit.

Yeah, I'd be happy with any of them winning. This is a weird season in how the final four are four of the best players (with Shauhin also among that group).

No way I'm getting up at 6 am my time to watch the S50 cast reveal. I'll catch it on YouTube later.

You know, I LIKE Simmotion and I think its overused.

I get up around 7:30 on Wednesdays to go to the gym anyway so I can get up half an hour earlier.

you know, this would have been a great season for a F2.

Simmotion is such a bad final challenge. It's best suited for like F6. The final challenge should be straight up endurance that could last for 4+ hours. Raise the stakes!

I have no idea what is about to happen. This "New Kamilla" story came from nowhere. Eva grappling with dysregulation when her fire wouldn't start fits quite well with her narrative. And Kyle perhaps pulling the Underwood Gambit to not look bad if Eva loses is very much in his character.

All I know is that Joe isn't going to have a chance at making fire because nobody wants to give him that resume point lol

I'm so happy for Eva. She's probably not winning, so at least she got to have that moment of victory.

Same. I don't see how she wins with Joe and Kyle there. She'll be seen as the third wheel who helped them both get there. I don't see Kamilla beating Kyle, who has a more public game, but she could have won against Joe and Eva.

Probably too redundant of what was said at Tribal. But also because she's female, and we know how Probst feels about that...

Oh that moment was great

The private nature of Kyle and Kamilla may require proof for some of the jury. If it's not something that logically makes sense to them, it needs to if Kyle wants their vote.

That David moment was hilarious!

Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot. That's what a good cast does. This, like the season as a whole, was "nice people who still have conflict" in the best way.

Eva may have won it with that closing speech tbh

I feel like Kyle's going to win. They really played up the Shauhin boot like it was the most important moment of the season.

Yeah, I thought Kyle at FTC left a lot to be desired, but he still won... like I had been expecting since right after the merge. Going into the merge, I felt him and Kamilla were the ones to watch.

So I voted for Civa in the last topic poll and Kyle in this one. I can show you the receipts...

Yeah honestly, even though this seemed close, Ive had a feeling all night that this was going to be Kyle. This was still an awesome F3, an awesome finale, and an awesome season.

Kyle winning was obvious, but Eva getting second is incredible for her. And this is our first season since 35 with all the finalists getting votes. Quality final three overall.

No, Jeff. Literally nobody at home is looking at Mitch is saying, wow, the guy can play the game.

Decent winner. More attorneys winning.

Preferred the other finalists to win though.

Lol it was crazy to me to realize that like, oh, yeah, these people watching Survivor for the first time as a kid are seeing Simmotion as the "classic, always done final challenge"

Kyle was the most deserving the three, even if he did need Kamilla to bail him out there. But he played the best game of the three by far, and the fact that the other two needed emotional arguments to get votes just solidified it.

This sure was one of the seasons of all time. Quite sincerely, I loved Joe's emotional moments and thought this cast had a ton of personality. However, fully lackluster gameplay and really a postmerge missing any genuine intrigue that fizzled out in even a disappointing firemaking and final tribal just leaves this one in the bin of substandard modern (30+) seasons. I think this edges out 43 to avoid last place in the new era, but only just.

I also think it's fascinating that Joe was sold as such a gargantuan threat to be kind of wholly looked at as a goat by the jury. Kamilla would have won, Shahin was almost certainly right that he would've beaten him in final 3, and I suspect even Mitch would've had a legitimate chance if he made it there. But it makes the edit of the season feel a lot sillier given that the jury's perception of the duo was not nearly as high as what the show sold to us.

Yeah, the jury perception they sold us during the season wasn't anywhere close to true. Though I'm shocked Kamilla would've swept, because I would have thought she'd have been seen as a hanger on like Mitch if she didn't have Kyle to vouch for her.

Tbqh I think it was clear from what we saw of jury reactions that they wanted underdogs to make a move and kamilla was the one making anything happening and scrapping immunity wins. I still think it would've ended as a more compelling spectacle if Kyle and kamilla had to go head to head on the jury but it really seems like she had it on lock

I love the Aubrys of the world but I dont need to see her a 4th time.

My #1 wish with a bullet is for the OG King of Fiji to return followed by Mike White.

I like Mitch the guy quite a lot, and can see why kids would really look up to him. But nobody thinks Mitch played a good game given what we saw. We might find out more from the exit press.

Also Kamilla wins if she makes FTC because she was the underdog who broke through. That perception cannot be changed. Even coming public with her covert ops with Kyle doesn't change that the jury would see her as the underdog and reward her fighting spirit.

Jeff regrets ever casting Mike because of their friendship. It's nothing that Mike did, just that Jeff thinks it was a mistake.

I didn't know he'd said that.

I can understand if he regretted the nepotism but tbh I doubt anything more than a tiny minority of fans would tell you they'd rather he wasn't on DvG. Or maybe I'm biased and ignorant about an anti-Mike-White contingent.
