That was literally the point. Why would the Democratic Party want more potential Trump voters? Since most migrants now tend to vote Republican, Democrats should be anti-immigration. How hard is it to understand to not want to invite people who will vote against you?

I also genuinely think in hindsight that the Biden administration did the right thing supporting Israel, knowing the alternative would be letting a terrorist group run roughshod in the area and directly threaten national interests. If you condemn the Biden administration for supporting Israel because of Israel being bad you might as well condemn every Cold War POTUS for supporting right-wing movements to contain communism.

I've been thinking for a while that the downfall of Boeing is the start of the new world order without the US on top. It's so incredibly significant, considering how successful they were 20 years ago. It's been a long term change that no administration has taken seriously, especially Trump.

On a more serious note, I may have brought this up earlier but I just find the whole hardcore gamer backlash against stuff like diversity and inclusion pretty rich given the games they're into seem to be the kinds that used to get them considered not real gamers in the 2000s and before.

It looks at a larger timeline, but obv it talks about it. But to blame the merger entirely for the issue is missing an even larger point. It's not just Boeing and it's not just mergers.

So many other industries have been quietly improving outside of the US in a similar way, and they will hit a similar tipping point. It's a systemic geopolitical issue that has caused the US to lose power, not a handful of poor business tactics.

Did it? Other than to say that it's a thing that happened, it may as well have not been mentioned.

Prior to the merger Boeing had a culture of quality and long term innovation. But rather than retaining the company culture of the proven winning company, the merger between the two companies essentially resulted in the corporate structure of McDonnell Douglas taking full control and wearing Boeing like a skin suit.

So yeah, the video mentions things that happens, but doesn't feel like it's seeking to explain WHY it happened.

Airbus is winning now because airbus is winning now. Boeing is struggling because of the struggles that Boeing has been having.

For something titled "How Airbus Surpassed Boeing..." it really doesn't at all explain the how except to give the most superficial recap of events.

You missed the key stats then. Airbus started winning hard, which caused Boeing to rush with the 737 MAX to catch up. Maybe a pre-merger Boeing would've been competent enough to do a rush job properly, who knows. And also, the 787 is equally shit as the 737 MAX, but it's super successful, so that's a big win for McD if you're thinking that way.

My point is, don't be shocked when this starts happening with other US brands that seem impossible to topple. Apple, Coke, etc.

Boeing failed to react appropriately because they moved their headquarters and started to make decisions without involving their engineers. It was their internal communication and self coordination that caused them to stop innovating and make short term profit/stock decisions rather than quality and superior production ones.

This isn't to say that Airbus didn't do things right for their own part, but I would sooner describe the situation as Airbus capitalizing on Boeing's collapse before I'd call it Boeing collapsing because Airbus was gaining on them.

Yeah, sucks. Was the closest margin in Polands history so really just shows how divided it is there. Well at least on the positive side in Poland both sides of the political spectrum oppose Russia so not much will change in foreign policy terms. Also there is still a liberal government but it will struggle to get major legislation through.
