Multiple sources told CBS News the settlement has been reached in principle but is not yet signed. In a court proceeding Friday, a plaintiff's attorney confirmed the settlement in principle was reached. It would avert a trial and further proceedings in a $30 million civil suit filed by the conservative activist group Judicial Watch on behalf of Babbitt's estate, including her late husband.

Despite excuse after excuse after excuse, but the American voting populace really did support each and every thing Trump is doing.

Presumably, he'll be parading them around at his modern-day Reichsparteitage while he uses his dead follower as a martyr to justify further tyranny against everyone that's not on his team. You know, assuming he isn't already doing that (as a rule, I refuse to watch that bastard's lips flap for more than two seconds, let alone bother to watch his stupid rallies).

I remember in the immediate aftermath of Jan 6 I saw some conservatives try to make Babbitt into a martyrdom symbol for the movement. There were designs and logos with her face and stuff. But the idea seemed to fall apart really quickly. In part, I think, because a lot of MAGAs are sorta sexist. And, more importantly, because "officer of the law violently escalated into shooting and killing an innocent person" is a stance that they're historically on the opposite opinion of. Historically they're more like "innocent person deserved it FAFO"

I wish the other rioters there had shared the same fate as her.

Hence why I said near majority. Whether they like it or not, a vote for a candidate is indeed an endorsement of everything they do. Those that did not vote effectively don't matter in this context, which is one of the main reasons that the Democrats care so little for left wing voters: They don't vote.
