But what I'm actually here to post is a question. Finished Mansfield sidestory yesterday and I'm wondering what the sidestories that cover the followup to that are.

Those are Dorothy's Vision and Lone Trail. Lone Trail is in the intermezzi tab, not the side stories one.

EDIT: before I forget, Lone Trail continues the story arc of a character from episodes 7 and 8 of the main story. There's also the Rhine Lab comic that released alongside Dorothy's Vision, you can find it in the official Arknights website for global.

I also recommend reading Yuina's side story after Ch 3. It's hard to say if the impact is better or worse pre or post Ch 3 but it really depends on the person

Meanwhile that Yuina has one of the strongest single hitting move in the game. Single hit DPS moves are always at a disadvantage cuz one of the strongest buff types, the multi-hit increase, does nothing but just... consume it for 0 dmg with single hit moves. Honestly not sure what the intent here was with single hitting moves.

It's so strong though that other Yuina Memorias kinda use it as a back up DPS even if off-type

Strike Freedom is both limited and UR. I'm like 99% certain it's just gonna be on a banner, and a big problem this game has is that it gives so little currency. Unless they do something to remedy this, I might have to drop the game, because it's near Sword of Convallaria levels of stingy. Although I guess at the very least they let you make SSR units. And there was one UR unit I saw that could be made too, but it wasn't one that I wanted :<

RIP my HBR alt account lost the coin flip on the Inori banner. I'm getting spooked now that the JP vets are recommending her so bad. That's why I tried to get her on the alt. I think my main doesn't really need her per se. But the alt is where I pull willy nilly so I get patience to sit on a crapload of gems on my main lul

Oh HELL FUCKING NO. This is the absolute biggest middle finger I have gotten in any gacha EVER. Upon closer inspection, I realized that I got the regular, non-limited fucking Freedom that was available day one <_<

Ouch that fucking sucks. More importantly for me Machu finally has her voice.

Oh wow, the event gives absolutely zero currency and you can't even use tickets on the limited banner. My hype for this game is taking a nose dive. If I can get the Strike Freedom I'll be willing to stick it out a bit longer to see if Bamco can get their shit together. But if not, I'm probably just gonna drop the game in a heartbeat. The disappointments so far just hit too hard

• No series music
• Lacking a bunch of suits
• Horrifically low currency income
• Limiting skips to 3 times per stage per day. All the stages can be played as long as you have the stamina, so limiting skips is just an unnecessary nuisance <_<

The game has no weekly or monthly missions, no monthly or battle pass to purchase, no diamonds from events, and apparently only 300 diamonds for maintenance. I have been looking forward to this game for years, but am so heavily disappointed by how hard it is to get a decent amount of currency. And with the Strike Freedom being a limited unit, its making the lack of in game income that much more apparent.

Sword Maiden and Elf Archer are expected, but I really thought that the Witch wouldve fit in really well with Brown Dusts theme so to speak lol. And IIRC they said they werent going to have any more male characters. I guess they just meant original characters or ones from the first game?

Or is the knight dude not a dude? I never watched Goblin Slayer lol. Nope, I guess he is a dude. Just gotta have the main character I guess :<

My opinion is that Japanese gacha tends to be more greedy and stingy than Chinese and Korean gacha so I'm not surprised G Gen Eternal is the way it is

HBR, done with the behavioural report event. This entire event is just the writers going "Hey, we saw you guys liked that picture at the end of chapter 3. Let us ruin it for you".

I'll probably stay away from chapter 4 for a while and focus on reading all the events(minus the one that has chapter 4 spoilers) and building up my units.

Yeah Behavioral Report was pretty haunting especially because it confirms a lot of things, but also cuz the story is very depressing for many reasons. Btw, you can just about figure out what the number in the side story actually means. They can build a giant tower of Narbies at this point. Also the fact that they're on Squad batch 31. Before this point, I was falsely led to believe there was a chance the Narby'd girls could come back cuz somebody said they kept bringing back characters. Later I realized the post was referring to how many times Aoi got new Memorias and side story relevance lmao

I'm trying to think of any side story that might have serious Ch 4 spoilers but I can't think of any I haven't read the last 3 side stories out of a lack of time tbf. The side stories are also great cuz any friendships and facts revealed there have story relevance later, like Mari's mom's tablet comes up like 4-5 times from what I can remember, and the movie squad and U140 squad remain close friends and are constantly hanging out with each other in the background (except Bungo, cuz you know)

I've seen mentioned in the HBR subreddit that the Summer Yuina event should be read after chapter 4, I assumed it was due to spoilers.

I'll probably read the normal Yuina event first.

These collaboration characters do not feature any new battle gimmicks and were balanced so that existing BrownDust2 characters would be strong enough to replace them. This was a decision made to avoid repeating past mistakes, as previous collaboration characters were too powerful, offering no way of replacement for players who started the game later.

As such, we apologize for the disappointment we may have caused to those who hoped for powerful Combat Power from collaboration characters.

Oooooooh fuck. I was hyped for Etheria Restart, but then I noticed its made by the devs who made Sword of Convallaria. Ill still try it of course, but Im just afraid because of how insanely stingy SoC was :<

The global HBR sales is worrying, though most people playing it in global are playing on PC and it doesn't show on the mobile sales chart, but that mobile revenue is like super low. They basically had like no advertising on the mobile side. They were kinda just like well, this is 3 years late but here it is, hope it spreads via word of mouth

It's crazy cuz the writing is on par with the VNs out there, and the translation is really high quality and by JAST. It can't have been cheap and it's hard to say they're breaking even.

The other problem is that we know the future, so people are constantly like don't pull for literally anything (except Inori SS2, Yingxia, and Aoi SS2 I guess). Certainly that doesn't help the sales at all. That's the problem with a really old game with accelerated release schedule I guess. People are willing to save for a while

Also poggers, forget all that, Mari buffs. They saved the last member of 31-C to get a major buff. The woes of being meta for so long

Yeah, marketing is very important. While I don't expect people to know Jun Maeda, they could have advertised it as a game written by the writer of Angel Beats/Clannad, or something.

Yeah Jun Maeda being the front guy for the entire game is usually plastered everywhere, but it also feels like VN fans look down on gachas, so it's a hard ask. It's also published by Yostar in global rather than Key/Wright like it is in Japan, so it's also possible they just don't have the same amount of freedom.

I honestly think Yostar is doing a good job in terms of the game management. They might ramp up the ads when Angel Beats collab happens. But in terms of marketing, I don't even see it that much on my recs when HBR fits all the usual games I play. That's really worrying cuz I still see GFL2 or E7 on my playstore after I dl'd it and played it a bunch

For things that I need to praise Yostar about outside of the excellent localization and hiring JAST is stuff like 150 pity rather than 200 in JP, or early QoL changes. They also downgraded the thresholds needed for a bunch of challenge modes, which made it possible for F2P guys like myself (well I paid the monthly but I haven't actually used those gems yet lmao, but I bought it out of love) to actually beat some of them

I tried E7 again since the original Guilty Gear collab. I'm still not sold but the new player experience is pretty whack (in a good way). Lots of QoL improvements as well since I last played.

Other than that, I'm still playing Last Cloudia (for the collabs mainly) and on and off on Pokemon Masters. Here's hoping that new HoYos Pokemon like gacha won't take years to release.

I wish I could've dove back into Last Cloudia but I lost the account I used to play around 3 months for, so I just gave up lol. I spent 10 bucks on it on impulse when I played it so

Yeah Epic Seven did get some good QoL improvements, but I quit because of the horrendous PvP. I understand people wanting to flock towards the meta, and I never say they shouldnt use a character, since thats entirely their choice.

But Jesus H. Monkeyballs seeing Mort and Afternoon Soak Flan in 90% of arena and guild war teams just made those modes feel like such a chore
