Best movie of the trilogy TBQH.

Like for reloaded, great action, terrible story.

I rewatched all 3 a while back. The first one is in that Terminator 2 tier of a "damm near perfect" movie. Reloaded and Revolutions were okay, but it's like they didn't understand (or care) what people loved about the original.

Watching the first Matrix also made me realize the sequels weren't necessary.

If revolutions was a better movie the matrix would have been a much bigger franchise

I liked it more than Reloaded, which I mentioned in the other topic is better than people give it credit for.

The main complaints I have with it are the Train Man thing was dumb and the Hugo Weaving laugh. Otherwise it was a p good film, unless you were just in it for the spectacle and stuff, in which case I can definitely understand being disappointed.

I vouched for Reloaded. But Revolutions is one that just hits too weak for me. So much of the intrigue of the Matrix is when they do stuff inside the Matrix, but Revolutions is largely outside of the Matrix. Are the only fights in the Matrix when Seraph, Trinity & Morpheus take on the Merovingians crew, and the climax of Neo vs Smith? Everything else is in Zion.

Its still better than Resurrections by a lot, though.

I thought the first act of that was actually pretty interesting, that one cringe dude aside. But acts 2 and 3 were positively abysmal.

That and they honestly should have cancelled the whole thing when they couldn't get Hugo Weaving OR Lawrence Fishburne.

About a year ago I rewatched all 3 original, and the 4th for the first time. First is still the best, second is much better than I remember it being, and the third is about as good, if not slightly better than I remembered. The fourth is just hot garbage.

Argh, Matrix was this close to dethroning ESB :/ Still, second is nothing to sneeze at.

Anyway, I just plain don't like Revolutions. Even though Reloaded was a clear step down from the original, it still had plenty of enjoyable / memorable moments and action sequences; Revolutions was just not enjoyable. The only part of the movie I thought was cool was when Neo "sees" the fiery silhouette of Agent Smith in the guy he possessed.

I think I might've actually laughed in the theater when you see Trinity impaled in the ship wreckage. "Thank God Neo put in all that effort to keep her alive for an extra 12 hours or so!"
