For me it's Kikizo, an old site about video games that had leaked footage of Sonic heroes way back before it was even officially announced. They don't exist anymore but I'll never forget that faithful day in BSIC class, to think just a few short years later I was led to this place because of the Mario Kart Double Dash leak, I think that was Toadette's debut game because I remember seeing Toad's partner and not sure who that was because I'd never seen her before that game. Now she's the cute one in the mario fandom while while they horny post about Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, Wendy and now Pauline who for the longest time I used to think her name was Paulina, Odyssey revived her in full while I think she was soft revived for the Mario vs Donkey Kong series.

I remember when this place was at war with Gamespot "Damn gamespotters!" and all that and they hated us just as much, sometimes the boards would get really nasty flame wars if they saw someone's name was a gamespot account. Oddly enough now it appears whatever community gamespot had up and vanished like 11 or so years ago, it's weird seeing the name still on the site logo when the place is as empty as Cracked is, another old website that CE couldn't get enough of back in the day

I didn't start using the internet until 1999 after getting home from the military so probably a little late to the party compared to most people who started during the boom of 1995 when basically the Internet became truly what we know as the Internet.

With that being said one of my regular visits was to a site called Ernie's House of Whoopass. There was some funny stuff on there.

Owls Australian ghost stories

and another ghost stories website that was just a page, each story in a list, with floating skulls rotating 360 degrees, and an 8 bit midi of gangsters paradise that from my memory still sounds better than any Ive listened to on YouTube.

Both websites had amazing stories, Owls had the classic Red Eye story years before it was reposted on Reddit. One about Berbalangs, and one about a tunnel that has the Asian vampire woman (long tongue, floating, horrid face) who kills motorists.

Sadly cant remember any tales from the more rudimentary html site, just the memories of how badly those stories scared me.

And neo pets, Star kingdoms, and various Final Fantasy roleplay websites.
