Human matter has been fused with computing to create the worlds first "Synthetic Biological Intelligence." https://newatlas.com/brain/cortical-bioengineered-intelligence/ The world's first "biological computer" that fuses human brain cells with silicon hardware to form fluid neural networks has been commercially launched, ushering in a new age of AI technology. The CL1, from Australian company Cortical Labs, offers a whole new kind of computing intelligence one that's more dynamic, sustainable and energy efficient than any AI that currently exists and we will start to see its potential when it's in users' hands in the coming months. This is both cool but also, to be frank, terrifying. I'm sure everyone entering this topic has seen some form of sci-fi where human gets fused with tech whether it be the Cybermen from Doctor Who or the Borg from Star Trek. Still putting aside the knee-jerk reaction it's fascinating to see how fast technology is developing now, and if this development pans out who knows how fast things might accelerate. The whole article's worth a read, this has the potential to lead to discoveries in a multitude of areas. --- Currently Playing: Fate/stay night Remastered (Switch), Arknights (Android) ... tremain07 posted... Why do we refuse to learn the lessons we see in movies? In all seriousness because a lot of cautionary tales humans make are because the above-average noticed aspects of the human condition. By that I mean that they noticed what makes us human and wrote about it, the crux of the problem being that those are core aspects of the human experience and even cautionary tales aren't going to fix the problem. So long as humans exist so will the "human condition" and through that all those cautionary tales remain relevant. --- Currently Playing: Fate/stay night Remastered (Switch), Arknights (Android) ... Every time I hear about a new advancement in tech it makes me glad I'm getting old so I won't have to deal with this shit for too long, lately. Makes me sad that pretty much every dream I had for the future of tech as a kid/teen is becoming real in monkeys paw variety. ... Copied to Clipboard!
