No more work, no more bills, just unlimited freedom to do whatever I want. Buy a mansion? Done. Travel the world? Easy. Eat at the most expensive restaurants every night? Why not?

You can do al that long before becoming a billionaire.

The real irony is that the people most likely to become billionaires are the least likely to be able to enjoy it.

No one gets to be a billionaire if they have the capacity to know when to stop.

Went to uni and met someone who was rich enough to travel the entire world many times over. He was bored.

Being a billionaire inherently means you're incapable of actually enjoying your wealth, because enough is never enough. Just look at the current richest man of the world, a man who is utterly incapable of making any friends.

I'd be satisfied with a couple of million. The fuck am I even supposed to do with a billion dollars? That's over 999,999,999 million, and Elon wants to reach that number a thousand times?

Literally everyone on this board wouldn't be able to even approach spending that much money. We'd all be too bored to even get close.

You could break any laws, and if someone has a problem, just buy politicians and judges and make them change the laws for you.

From what I've noticed Billionaires rarely retire, they typically continue working up until they die, only because of the responsibilities that come with being a billionaire. They usually are extremely passionate about working for one reason or another, and they will work straight up until retirement at the used to be normal age of 65 again if they retire at all.

You don't get to be a billionaire by sitting on your ass, and you certainly don't continue to be a billionaire by sitting on your ass. At the very least, you're going to have meetings out the ass.

I could live that lifestyle with like...$5-10 million.

I don't need a big ass mansion and Ferraris but I'd get a nice big house (like 3-4k sq ft) with a big yard, which around here can be had for about $400-500k, and a stable of sensible cars: a fully loaded family car like a Honda Pilot, a fully loaded sensible pickup truck like a Ford Maverick, and a fully loaded sedan like a Mazda6. All used within 5 years old, so that total would probably be like...35k for the Pilot, 20k for the Maverick, 20k for the 6. So just looking at a total of like ~$575k for the big ticket items. That leaves several million to just throw in some ETFs, then like a million to keep in a cash account for fun money >_>

It doesnt mean you're not allowed to want nice things, but if all you care about is getting more money to get a bigger house, to get a bigger faster car , etc , etc, y ou will never be happy , because you will just want for something else. You have to find other ways to aprpeciate life, even if you are rich, in fact I would say its even more important when you're rich because that's how you start losing your self, when you start allowing the greed of wealth to take control, you start caring less about the important things in life, like love for your friends and family, and compassion for those who suffer or the desire to make the world a better place.

You dont need to be a billionaire for that. And even if you were that kind of life would get boring fast.

It doesnt take as long as people think to do everything they can think of with infinite time and money. So I can see why elites still bother either way politics and business well into their golden years.
