I hope the characters shut up every now and then in this one, I couldn't stand playing more than an hour or two of 3 because I always, always had somebody chattering in my ear.

The point that I gave up on the game was when I was doing some quest to go retrieve something or kill someone, and after I had achieved it, I spotted a chest at the top of a tower that I wanted to open before heading back to hand in the quest. While I was climbing up the tower, Claptrap would NOT SHUT UP about how I need to go hand the quest in, for what felt like ten or fifteen minutes. I didn't even make it to the chest, I just quit the game and didn't start it up again.

If someone had told me 10 years ago that I'd give absolutely no fucks about a new Borderlands game I'd have thought they were nuts.

These cowards weren't brave enough to make Borderlands The Movie: The Game huh?

I'm here for the lootin' and shootin' and the new movement mechanics look dope so I'm in.

If the dialogue and story are more like BL3's base game...shame. If it's more in the tone of the DLCs for 3 then hey it might be decent.

I didn't actually play the DLCs until recently but they're way better than the base game.

She's presumably the Siren PC so you can try but it's only gonna cost 10% of her net worth.

I'm definitely taking a wait and see approach this time. Not pre-ordering after how Borderlands 3 was.

Yes. It just didn't keep the same naming scheme. If you want the version with all of the DLC, then you want Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition. Which, if you are trying to buy it, now's probably a good time. The Ultimate Edition is on sale on Steam and Playstation. But not on Xbox for some reason, only the base game and Super Deluxe Edition on sale there.

No kidding. 3 was such a letdown, and 4 is doing nothing for me so far. Doesn't help that the playable group this time is the most boring one yet. Borderlands is definitely feeling like a products of its time nowadays.

Gearbox confirmed she wasn't. They could be lying but they said the playable characters are all new.

Yeah, I ended up buying the Pandora's Box on Steam. The only game it doesn't come with is Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, since Gearbox is treating Wonderlands as it's own separate series.

As mentioned, they directly denied that. This new Siren is speculated to possibly be artificially created, or perhaps flawed in some way. Her powers also seem to be new: death orb and floating clone carrying a scythe. The theme of 'death' could be meant to play into her not being a typical or natural Siren; Troy was a lifeleeching parasite, as a comparison.

On a tangent, the Maliwan trooper PC had an interesting action skill shown as well: elemental overload sphere that would hit enemies with various DoTs as it traveled through them and could be detonated in an explosion which would make Torgue proud.

I wound up hating 3. Dragged myself through it to play with a friend but it wasn't really a fun experience and I dropped it as soon as we beat it.

Despite that, the trailer for 4 got me excited for the PCs. I know better than to buy into hype and trailer excitement though. I'm not saying I won't get 4 but it's definitely going to have to win me over after it's out and we can see the whole package.

I do hope the plot is better than whatever part 3 put out, but its not a absolute requirement for the plot to be amazing. (Hell in part 1 there wasn't any in the first place aside from the bits and pieces we got in the general knoxx DLC, lol).

I go by this but taking 3 into account the series might be over for me. I just don't get any fun from it anymore. It was fantastic while I liked it but i think that time has passed unless 4 gets some insane reviews.

Ive never played Borderlands before until last night when I started up the first game for about an hour

I have some faith that after three they will make a game with a much better story. I'm still going to Day 1 buy but if it sucks then they lose that loyalty from me.

I'm excited for it, I just hope they don't go lazy with the DLC like they did with TTWL

I kinda envy you still being able to play co-op with the crew like that. The last game we played co-op from start to finish was Halo Reach back in 2010 lol

The new movement looks nice. I was hoping for movement abilities in this series since Overwatch dropped.

It looks like they're trying to avoid going full Saints Row and dialing back on the wackiness a little bit to get closer to what the first game was like. Which is fair, as long as the narrative they do put in is well written.

This gives me a reason to start playing through the Borderlands series for the first time.
