I don't think people truly appreciate what the next few weeks are going to look like. The current OpenAI o1 model is an advanced reasoner with o3-mini coming in Feb. Deepseek in China is looking to meet o1 and o3 at just a fraction of the cost and with a much larger possible input size.

The latest papers from various companies basically rebut what you have said.

The point is people have been saying that we are only years away from generalized intelligence for half a century, and if the guy who literally invented the field was wrong about it back then, I'm confident a bunch of gamblers are wrong about it now.

Of course AI is going to disrupt the economy. It can easily do that with the present level of hallucinations it has, because there's a lot of human generated slop out there that is going to get replaced by AI generated slop.
