If she can win a primary then hey go for it. I'd like to see what she can do with more than a handful of months to campaign. Maybe now that she's actually put herself out there she can beat a competitor.

She couldn't even clear a primary, when she tried. You'd think she'd be self-aware to acknowledge that she was only the Democratic candidate, as a matter of circumstances.

Maybe this is intended to lull Trump into allowing elections in 4 years.

Ehhhh, before any democrat decides to toss their hat into the rung, there needs to be a serious purge of ghoulish senior advisors who do nothing but lose campaigns by basing strategy on what their beltway buddies think and fail upward when it inevitably doesn't work.

Biden did eventually win his primary, but even that has to be weighed against the fact that it was important that someone could clear Trump.

Ive always liked Harris but I would rather keep her here in California. She would be a great governor.

Anyway, we should nominate someone who's proven their worth as Secretary of State. A skilled former senator who's faced countless attacks in the media and kept their cool. A seasoned politician with a solid legislative record, who already beat a grueling primary and barely lost to a powerful Republican but for a twist of fate.

I'm speaking of course about John Kerry

She's most likely gearing up for the CA governor's race since that opens up in 2026. And she'll most likely win that since she is well liked and approved in California.

Look, I said the mistake was switching from a message of theyre so weird to hey look we got Cheneys. That doesnt mean there wasnt a better message to pivot to. The weird thing energized the early campaign. There has to have been a way to have kept that energy going. But as the election drew near it became more and more about the Republican support she was getting and her promise to have one in the cabinet. Well obviously never know what tactic would have worked.

I'm alright with her entering the primary and being the candidate if she is the clear cut front runner through that.

All I know is I wont vilify the candidate who got the second highest Democrat vote count in history. She must have been pretty decent to get more votes than Obama. And I wont blindly listen to the pessimism of a board that claimed she missed Bidens vote count by 20 million when there were clearly many millions of votes to count. (Shes gained 13 million since those claims)

Maybe wait til a couple elections from now?

A lot can change in 4 years, it is likely most of us haven't even heard of the Democratic candidate for 2028 yet. People forget that Obama was pretty much completely unheard of until 2004, then 4 years later he easily wins the presidency.

This is what I think. I absolutely think the Democrats should have run with different messaging. Even more than the weird stuff that fueled the early campaign, I wanted more of a message about what Harris and the other Democrats were going to do for voters.

But I also think, looking at the way things fell, no Democrat was going to win. Too much of the electorate is now a cult. Too many of the rest were dissatisfied with the economy (without really understanding what causes inflation or what a President can do about it, but whatever), or bought into the border crises the GOP has spent years manufacturing through fear mongering.

The electorate had access to all the info and choose to elect someone clearly unfit for the job. Short of jingling keys or writing the platform in bright colored crayon, I dont know what the Dems. could really do to reach voters who dont know what the facts are and dont care.

I wish the problem was with democrat messaging, because that would be easier to fix than an electorate living in a world of alternative facts.

It's very clear that the mass electorate simply does not inform themselves and are attracted to concepts of plan rather than full depth analysis. Which means Democrats need to focus more on hyping up their policies rather than trying to explain the in depth details of them.

I really don't even thinki it's necessarily a cult issue,myself. I think at the end of the day,the thinking isn't more complex than "Money problems! Trump Money Man! Trump Fix Money!"

That so many people voted only for Trump and didn't vote downballot or actively split the vote between Trump and downballot Dems indicates that Trump just has a unique strength for whatever reason and there's not a sustainable realignment when he's not on the ballot. Hell, polling shows people liked Kamala, her favorables eclipse Vance and Trump both. Just...they hate inflation more
