That doesnt mean there wasnt a better message to pivot to. The weird thing energized the early campaign. There has to have been a way to have kept that energy going. But as the election drew near it became more and more about the Republican support she was getting and her promise to have one in the cabinet. All I know is I wont vilify the candidate who got the second highest Democrat vote count in history. She must have been pretty decent to get more votes than Obama. I absolutely think the Democrats should have run with different messaging. Even more than the weird stuff that fueled the early campaign, I wanted more of a message about what Harris and the other Democrats were going to do for voters. But I also think, looking at the way things fell, no Democrat was going to win. Too much of the electorate is now a cult. Too many of the rest were dissatisfied with the economy (without really understanding what causes inflation or what a President can do about it, but whatever), or bought into the border crises the GOP has spent years manufacturing through fear mongering. The electorate had access to all the info and choose to elect someone clearly unfit for the job. Short of jingling keys or writing the platform in bright colored crayon, I dont know what the Dems. could really do to reach voters who dont know what the facts are and dont care.
