Jon Favreau, a host of the political podcast Pod Save America, said during Fridays episode that President Bidens internal polling showed that President-elect Trump would win 400 electoral votes.

Then we find out when the Biden campaign becomes the Harris campaign, that the Biden campaigns own internal polling at the time when they were telling us he was the strongest candidate, showed that Donald Trump was going to win 400 electoral votes, Favreau said on the podcast in comments highlighted by Mediaite.

The Pod Save America hosts, who worked with Biden in the Obama White House, were among those leading the call for Biden to step aside as the democratic nominee this summer.

Favreau also called Bidens reelection bid a catastrophic mistake, saying his inner circle refused to believe he was unpopular.

They refuse to acknowledge until very late that anyone could be upset about inflation. And they just kept telling us that his presidency was historic and it was the greatest economy ever, Favreau said.

That was kicking around for a little while a year or two ago. Goldfish memory is infectious online these days, but there were discussions on Kamala years back with the "He's going to die" doomers. It didn't look good then, either. Democrats needed to play by the book and primary-pick a new class leader like Bernie with proper delegates behind him for a proper, term long race and they failed once again. The pick-me, gunpoint politics failed optic testing. For whatever fucking reason, playing defensively and relying on continuity meant more to them than rolling up the sleeves.

Trump being elected feels like 2020 again to most Americans, when they remember good times financially. Or the pump and dump economy, multiple market failsafes springing to life after decades of dormancy, stimulus checks and bottomed out gas prices at the beginning of the Ukraine war felt like advantages of the Trump administration and not circumstances he inherited. Or that the last 3 years of the F tier economy was fucking his, that Biden inherited.

Beyond malpractice. Beyond sabotage. Don't tell me he was a great president after this, his delusion doomed us all to whatever's about to happen. The apparatus that let that happen, that lied to us about his state, that balked at the idea of the primary, they shouldn't be managers at McDonalds, much less setting political strategy for the Democratic Party. Don't ever ever ever tell me to listen to them again, I refuse. They don't know shit. Their concept of the world is incorrect.

Honestly the PodJohns waited until after the first debate before calling on Biden to drop out despite clearly having the insider knowledge to know how much of a problem this was. So this is self-serving of them.

Granted, after the debate they were on the right side of the "should Biden drop out" question but still.

Compared to most modern US presidents, he was one of the best. He was the best world leader to handle the Covid inflation crisis. Inflation sucked ass in the US, but the US dealt with it much better than almost all other countries.

The problem is Biden is a bad communicator, and in the 2024 election cycle, a bad campaigner. Not that it might even matter. Every incumbent party in major countries have lost this year.

One thing is crystal clear. The standard D formula of globalist business as usual with a few tweaks here and there is a proven loser.

The next D platform needs to be a radical change away from this shit. But good luck at getting agreement on what that change should be.

The whole basis of his campaign, the whole reason he was the nominee in 2020 and took us down the centrist path instead of the Bernie or even Warren path was that he was the one that would save us from Trump. He was supposed to be the bridge away from Trump. I've heard someone say that he was the bridge from Trump to Trump. Except Trump is even worse now. Almost every good thing he did will be wiped away or Trump will shamelessly take credit. The only thing left with his name on it will be the various foreign policy disasters he facilitated. Including a genocide.

That's pretty bad.

Please fucking tell me it only got that dire after the debate, if they knew he was gonna get his shit kicked in at the start of the year I'm gonna fucking lose it.
