Aside from that only a white, non-progressive, male has any shot. Would that really get another 20 mil people to vote? An "energizing" platform of being non-progressive? Also, after all the damage is done in Trump's second term we'll need a lot of progress to fix it, but the citizens have spoken and said no to that idea.

The lesson is that you have to be on attack mode 100% of the time, and that actual policy doesn't matter. I mean a rapist felon spent the whole time attack minorities, blacks, hispanics, women, LGBT, even some of his own fellow Republicans while never talking any actual policy or anything and the people decided that's okay and what they want

Probably needs to be a man. We had Obama, so unless that was a fluke then race isnt as important as other factors. Charismatic. Obama was articulate and his smile would light up a cavern. Not overtly progressive. People in general dont like change. And if the economy is bad, zero in on it.

I hate to say it, but it looks like social issues just aren't a winner for the Dems. Biden was the most gay- and especially trans-friendly administration ever, and the end result was the GOP running an anti-trans dogwhistle campaign to victory.

Is a new New Dem movement the answer? Fuck if I know, but "it's the economy, stupid" is rarely a bad first point of focus.

The ads that the right ran (in my area between WV, KY, and OH) were almost exclusively about transphobia. I think that was a major motivation for Trump voters.

Her being "too far right" I believe was a de-motivator for democratic voters. The big issue here was less people showed up to vote. There had to be a reason for that. There has to be a reason we allowed a man who belongs in prison to win.

I don't know how democrats win on the social front I don't know how you get so many people to stop prioritizing hate. But for the political leanings yea I got an idea, democrats should NEVER talk about bipartisanship again.

If the risk of losing all the rights progressives have fought for over the last century wasn't enough for turnout, then nothing is. Progressives of today don't care about what it means to be a progressive. They just want to stick it to everyone else that they are morally superior to everyone else.

Wrote this in a different topic, but holds true here:

It's obviously a lot more nuanced than this, but it's as simple as people being asked "Are we in a better spot that we were 4 years ago?" and the answer, for right or wrong, was "No".

And the easiest person/people to blame is the current President/Administration

Bush Sr: Answer was "No". Clinton gets elected.
Clinton: Answer was "Yes". Re-Elected.

I'll die on the hill that Gore actually won, so I won't talk about Bush Jr winning.

Bush Jr got Re-Elected mainly to keep the country stable during the war.

Bush Jr Term 2: Answer was "No": Obama gets elected.

Obama: Answer was "Yes". Re-Elected.

Obama 2nd Term: Answer was "Yes". Hillary SHOULD have won if she wasn't so cocky

Trump: Answer was "No". Biden Elected.

Biden/Harris: Answer (to many) was "No". Trump wins.
