I'm really really hoping that it's just some dumb outlier polls, but after 2016...eesh. Hard not to worry a bit.

Even beyond that, it's wild to me that this is anywhere near close in any capacity. The Trump campaign has been a flaming trainwreck all around with gaffe after gaffe after gaffe, they've offered nothing resembling coherent policy, and Trump is the same fuck up that he was in 2020 just with a much more rotted brain and a team of much angrier, more insidious jackasses around him plotting shit if he wins. It's truly wild that anyone outside of the cult would be like "Yeah idk that sounds pretty good."

I reread the entire Fortune article that I posted and I don't see it there. If the article's showing up wrong for me or something it'd be nice if someone could quote the part of the article that mentions the WSJ poll having been worked on by a GOP pollster. I do not see it.

I was only able to find out that a Republican pollster had been hired on the main WSJ article itself. WSJ puts up annoying paywalls, so I'm reluctant to visit it unless necessary.

Again, someone please quote the portion of the Fortune article that presents this information. Because if it's not actually in there then a lot of these replies are unjustified.

The Forbes poll is straight up worse (Trump also 2 points ahead, but with no undecideds for Harris to draw from) and I'm not familiar with them being discredited.

Marist Polling says Harris leads Trump in people who have already voted by 55-44 in Arizona, 55-43 in North Carolina, and 54-45 in Georgia.

Harris is also up by 4 points in Northampton County, which has a history of picking the winner of the election.

Genuinely feels like a lot of these types of articles are trying to get people discouraged to stop voting via dooming.

While GOP margins are up for in-person early voting they're still heavily avoidant of mail-in voting, which may be hampering their early turnout still.

I work in a building where one of Milwaukee's early voting locations is, it's had lines out the door since early voting started 3 days ago.

Early voting in general has gone up since COVID. This doesn't mean much.

I don't understand why people are surprised. Rent and food is sky high. I'm sure there's people out there desperate for change and voting for the current regime isn't change. There's a lot of people that won't publicly say they are voting for Trump because they will be shamed but they are out there and they will vote for him.
