I don't know their history, but honestly I think I have been too before. Not really being racist, just hoping they die or something. The mod said something like, that's offensive and you shouldn't wish death on even fictitious things or something like that because people can find that offensive.

I truly don't remember what it was, but it was years ago and I always thought that was the dumbest fucking shit.

Would love a mod's take on this currently. I've seen and partook in topics being racist against fictional races and have never been modded or seen anyone modded for it.

Without going into detail about the moderation in question, I don't believe there's any specific rule against being racist towards fictional races. However, if you break another rule while doing so, then you're going to get modded, especially if it's flagrant.

Like you said, if it's a thinly veiled comment about a real world race, that's obviously moddable. Going further, if you make a connection to real world race, that could easily go too far depending on the context. If you're harassing people who play a certain race, that could cross the line.
I would say just avoid making real world connections, or posts that could be easily construed as a real world connection, while being racist towards fictional races.

Does the board have auto-mods because they can get ridiculous. I got auto-modded and restricted for "violent threats" on Instagram one time for quoting "I'm well within my rights to kill you right now" which was a literal quote from the clip of I Think You Should Leave that I was commenting on. Even my appeal was denied because there's no way to actually offer context in your response nor can you speak to a live person. Meanwhile there's rampant disinformation regarding health and elections and racism occurring on there and even when you report it, nothing happens because they "didn't have time to review".

Probably not worth it at this point. It was a temporary restriction that prevented live broadcasts (which I never do) so it didn't really do much more than annoy me in how ridiculously useless their process is. They apparently also have a third party review board that I was given the option to submit a claim to after my initial appeal was denied but it would have just been a waste of time and it even said it's not guaranteed it would be reviewed. If I had gotten permabanned over it, I definitely would have gone that route though.

This person kind of being coy with what happen in a place he does need to. So that makes me wonder. But at the same time I feel like I have gotten some unfair moderations. So I am not going to say he is BSing.

Let's just ask the mods.

I assume that large social media platforms like Instagram largely automate moderation, and/or have so few human moderators that there's no time to establish context for remarks.

Reveling a little bit too hard in fantasy racism is such a red flag for anyone honestly.

Eh, I've seen some people using fictional race as an analogue of real people. So the mods might be on to something.

Heck, I've even see someone on this board claims that goblins from Goblin Slayer are representation of RL immigrants and he didn't even get moderated.
For information, the goblins in Goblin Slayer are much worse than average DnD goblins. They're actively raping women and pillaging villages.

While were on the subject of Skyrim, I love how practically everybody seems to hate one another there regardless of their race or political affiliation. Must be a miserable place to live compared to other Imperial provinces, just saying.
