Saw a similar topic on the PS5 boards, and was surprised how many people abstain from alcohol. I don't come here very much, but I wondered if it was the same here, ok?

Drink, just to drink? Never. Bitter has never been a pleasurable taste to me so Ive never developed the curiosity or interest.

I usually have a glass of champagne at New Year's and if there's some other important event (wedding, big formal gathering, etc.), I might have a drink there, but that's pretty much it.

I took it to me at all, not specifically drinking to get drunk. If it was drinking to get drunk my answer would change to never because I'm not in college.

I'm a teetotaler in a family who drinks regularly, but rarely to the point of getting drunk. I've never been drunk and never will. I find drunk people stupid at best, or psychopathic at worst. My reason for hating alcohol is not based on family history or tragedy, but logic. My hatred of alcohol isn't as bad as my hatred of other drugs though. It's only once people get drunk that my tolerance disappears.

I wouldn't hesitate to use violence to stop someone from drinking and driving, regardless of who it is. It's not just about murdering people with cars though, but also the decrease in intelligence, the impulsivity, the violence, the inability to walk straight, the loss of judgement, the sexual abuse, the addiction, etc.

It probably averages out to a drink a month. It's not that consistent (more like 4-6 instances throughout the year of having 2-3 drinks, give or take), but the bottom line is that I don't drink much.

I consider it a win if I have less than a drink per day. I wouldn't say I have a problem but it's a fine line.

I used to drink fairly often (mainly at parties, clubs, etc - I never really drank alone), but as I've I gotten older I socialize less, and my tolerance is getting worse, so I've mostly stopped.

Now I maybe drink once or twice a year, tops.

alcohol sort of almost never but occasionally at holiday time I might have some Bailey's (straight or in coffee) or a glass of wine if it happens to be available. at a restaurant I might have a long island iced tea. mostly for the taste and not for the alcohol, although I can't say it's not a little relaxing sometimes.

I don't drink alcohol. I used to drink only water.

Pretty close to never. The last time would have been 2018 while clubbing in Australia.

I haven't touched alcohol in over 18 years ever since I fell out with my ex-mates. I never liked it to begin with and only did it to be sociable.

Give me my Benson & Hedges cigarettes any day. I love my ciggies. Well you have got to have at least one vice in your life.

Probably once every 1 or 2 weeks. Last night, for example, I just decided I wanted a margarita so I made one. I really just have it for the taste, I never liked getting drunk. Mostly because I get sick (dizzy, vomiting, tired, etc.) long before I get the "good" feeling of being drunk. So I haven't been drunk in about 18 years.

I wonder how many of the Nevers are actually old enough to drink.

Very rare, I don't think I touched alcohol at all in 2023 as the 2 times I had works night out one I couldn't attend and the other I forgot, this year I was housebound for over 2 months so bought a cheap alcopop but as I was still on painkillers at time I had a terrible experience even on amount that wouldn't get a kid drunk.

During my youth I went out around 2-3 times per month rarely as much as 5 as didn't have the cash and even then it wasn't a huge amount i.e 1 drinks, so 10 could get me drunk even if I had a "premium" 2.50 drink and even often have change left over.

Now its around 6 per pint of beer and less than half a beer I want to go to bed and sleep so not worth it.

Never drank alcohol at all. Never saw the appeal to be honest.

On average I guess I'd say once a month. Because some months I drink multiple times, some months not at all. Usually it's not going to be more than a couple times in a month.

I mean Im not unaware of the effects lol. Still dont see the appeal.

Nowadays, it may happen more than once in a month, but it's rare indeed that it is more than one glass. I also never drink alone. On the plus side, any built up resistance is gone, so no more than one glass is needed for a buzz.

once a week i go to the local pizza tavern and drink a few drafts with my pizza but thats about it

I can't recall if I answered this presently. I will say that I'm abstaining from it to practice some Hebrew self control to cut calories. I used to do it twice a week to disperse the brain fog after work with any flavorful drink. Since I held out for a few days, low alcohol % worked to save money for more tipsy things.

Almost every day honestly but only a few beers. Nothing crazy. Just something to unwind with after work. But I also occasionally take weeks/months off from it to keep myself in check

Couple of times per year; I come from a family of alcoholics, so I never make more than a pit stop in booze town.

Worst case scenario, I'll buy a bottle of rum or vodka, finish it in a week or so, and then not a drop of alcohol for another 6-8 months. Off and on like a light switch.

Nowadays very rarely

Less than ten times a year probably. I much prefer weed

After kids. Zero. Dont got time for that.

Never drank regularly, only a few times, socially. Been like 7 years or so since the last time I drank.

Every GREAT now and then and only on special occasions.

Sometimes I'll drink multiple times a week and others I'll go months without it so it probably averages out to once a week

Almost never.

Last drink I had was at my 10 year high school reunion back in 2004.

My bros, I'm usually 3 times a week, but ever since my daughter went on summer break, it's every day. It's not me depressed or anything, or irritated she's home more though. I actually like when she's home. But when she's in school, I have to get up at 5:30am every day, and getting up that early with a hangover is brutal. Now I can sleep it off, and it's given me an excuse to drink more. I really need to chill, ok?

I'd drink non alcoholic wine more often if it wasn't so expensive. I don't like the taste of bitter drinks, but ros wine is great thanks to its fruity flavor. I also hate the feeling of carbonated drinks, so even without alcohol I can't drink beer.

Even as a teetotaller myself, I find that impressive and probably impossible. Surely you must have eaten meat marinated in wine? My father served me such meat plenty of times when I was a kid. I also drank alcoholic beverages on accident several times in the past. It doesn't bother me because I'm an atheist. I don't drink alcohol as a personal choice, but I don't freak out about it if some alcohol enters my bloodstream. Being forced to be drunk, on the other hand, would be torture and quite traumatic. The same goes with doing other non medical drugs. I avoid secondhand smoke like the plague. Unlike with drinking, there's no such thing as smoking in moderation.

I drink on most weekends. I'll have about 1-3 beers in a session and almost never more than that. I never liked being drunk, mainly just drink for taste. I've actually been trying out more non-alcoholic beers lately.

4 beers on a Friday night. Once a week.
