The splash pad shooting was one of at least four mass shootings that took place around the country Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Six people were shot in a residential neighborhood in Lathrup Village, another Detroit suburb. Seven people were shot at a party in Methuen, Massachusetts, and eight people were shot during a Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock, Texas.

Did you just pull the people will do it anyway so therefore we shouldnt make items making mass murder easier illegal? Card?

Like this argument is so nonsensical its ridiculous. First of all, theyll have to invest in a 3D printer. Theres a minimum of a $150 or so. For a cheap one. Then the amount of material they need. The know how to find the files or design your own. Then printing it and it actually working as intended.

Or... they just go down to spend $100 or so for a bump stock from Dicks and have it professionally installed.

Did you even remotely think that was a good counter argument to a device that does not add anything to the weapon but make it an easy to build incredibly fast firing weapon out of a semi automatic weapon?

bumpfiring isnt a device. its a technique. one thats been around since semi-autos were invented. its impossible to ban even if the system wants to try it over some plastic. its not going to change anything even if they do. you can do it with your fingers or anything else. theres plenty of youtube videos out there demonstrating.

In that case, if it's just "technique", then there must not be any harm in banning a component that helps facilitate it, right?

That doesn't change that bump stocks exist to make it easier, which in turn means that restricting the availability of bump stocks makes it harder. I'm in favour raising the skill floor on mass murder.
