I feel like the Pacifica's been around long enough that any concerning reliability issues would've been ironed out by now, plus could likely have them add on an extended warranty and still walk away saving a shitload vs new.
But I still understand wanting a new one for the extra peace of mind, I'm just a cheap bastard >_> --- https://i.imgtc.com/MGGa6Os.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'll probably always buy used with no-haggle dealerships. Just bought a CR-V from a dealership via TrueCar and the appointment took about 1.5 hrs from entry to exit.

I bought a car last November and the first dealership tried to play games when all I wanted to know was the out the door price of the vehicle. The dude wouldn't tell me any numbers until I agreed to at least test drive the vehicle and he kept on pulling the "what will it take for me to get you to walk out of here with this vehicle" speech until giving up. I left without getting any numbers
Second dealership experience started with a 5 minute phone convo where not only did I get the OTD price but also negotiated a bit using the price I got weeks later from dealership #1 after they kept blowing up my phone with prices for models/configurations I didn't want. Drove there and within a few minutes the dude took a pic of my ID, handed me keys, and told me to take as long as I needed to test drive the car by myself. So I ended up with that car that same day. But I did still end up paying a slight markup even with the negotiation since the model I wanted (Lexus NX 450h+) was hard to find at the time especially in the color and trim that I wanted. I didn't compromise on what I wanted so I'm hoping to not have to go through that shit again for at least another decade. --- Roll Tide & Go Irish ... Copied to Clipboard!

My wife works at a dealership so I don't have to go through the runaround to get the best price but it still takes a while for all of the paperwork and whatnot to be completed.

Dealerships suck ass, but I'd rather buy a new car than an old one. My first car was a used car that wasn't even 9 years old when I got it and it ran into various issues the few years I owned it. My second car was bought new and I've had for about 18 years and it still runs rather well in part because I take of it and don't abuse it when I drive. I wouldn't gamble on a used car because of how rough and absent minded the average car owner is, especially with how expensive used cars are today.
Of course the best thing would be break up the old 1930s era laws on dealerships which gives them insane power. --- We all live in a Yellow SUV! a Yellow SUV! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Toyotas being marked up recently is a well known thing. A lot of stories online about salespeople not giving a shit about how they treat potential buyers because they know they're still gonna sell the cars regardless

Lexus NX is basically a RAV4. They ride on the exact same platform.

Yeah a Lexus is basically just a Toyota with a 20-30k trim package. Camrys look like old Lexus sedans, the new Supra looks like the sporty Lexus cars, and the RAV4 is an old RX.

Does that include taxes or is the price because of all the overpriced addons? It's a 2025 Toyota Camry XLE (first one that arrived at the dealership) with the premium package, all weather mats, and charging cables. So yes it's in part because of the add-ons. I wanted the premium package but that's about it. Taxes will make it more, but the financed amount isn't all that bad. I'll have it paid off within a year.
