The money, easily. I can gain knowledge/skills (maybe not 100%, but close enough) in most things I care about with enough work, plus the learning process is something I love, so why would I want to just skip past that. I can't get $10 million with just hard work (at least not legally).

If I got to pick the trades, probably. but since they are random hard pass. I'd rather have 10 million dollars than be the world's greatest elephant poop cleaner.

Depends on if one is just interested in money or doing something they like even if it generates less money.

I mean most trades have crossovers so they could be useful.

It really depends on what is considered a trade.

Are we talking the established trades, like Plumbing? Or we talking any random skill set?

Money easy. I can live off investments and do my passion projects immediately. Now if I could pick some of the trades, then I'd reallllly be tempted.

Mini splits are ok,ish. I wonder if its low on refrigerant/freon. I had an issue with a mini split. The flared end of the copper tubing, had split down the flare and it was leaking.

If I'll take the 10 mil. Plop that in a savings account and just live off of the interest

I think there are more financially middling skills than not, depending on what breadth we're working with.

I'm assuming a skill must be either directly practical, or at least made practical by some sort of cultural relevance. Basketweaving is a Thing, spinning plates is a Thing for clowns and acrobats, being able to bounce m&ms off your gut and into your mouth doesn't count as a Thing even though it is something that takes skill. Then there are a billion little factory worker bit skills that are entirely useless outside of the very specific setting of their work.

It is extremely cool to be great at damn near any little thing, and 10 things is a lot of things to be great about, but 10 mil would solve all of my problems, so I gotta go with the money.

Money. I'd never have to do anything again and could focus on learning things I actually care about.

Usually trades are known to encompass a variety of skills that play into the purview of an entire job's demands. It's why something like plumbing isn't just a skill (any numb nuts can install a u-pipe). It requires knowledge and at least mild competency in a variety of things to be good at.

Trades since there are some that will be entirely more beneficial to have and are money makers in themselves.

They said 100% knowledge /skill and they say master in the post so presuming they mean for us to be (revered) masters of the learned trades.

Free money for sure. Skills - you still have to work, drive places, sometimes lift things, deal with gross s*** (especially plumbers), interact with Karens, and WORK.

Give me the money and free time.

100% trade knowledge for a large amount of trades would involve a vast amount of physics understandings that are currently unattainable by me. I'd take that for sure. Do you know what you could do with 100% knowledge of heating and cooling?

Because the trades are random, I do not know if they will actually be useful to survive the collapse of civilization (the odds of getting one that makes you useful is low compared to stuff like basket weaving when containers are still everywhere, plumbing when there is no longer any pressure or electricity, etc). And even if they are, the things I will need to do to survive an overshoot of the level human civilization is currently in, upon the collapse hitting, will make Holodomor look like just another Tuesday.

So I may as well choose the certainty of enjoying the time left. And 10 million would be enough to last till old age even if we somehow don't have a total collapse and actually manage to maintain power, plumbing, and enough food to at least keep the western nations mostly afloat.

If you don't change your lifestyle $10 million will last you for the rest of your life because you will be making more in interest a year than most people make in a year of working an actual job.

10 skills is a lot:

• Marketing
• Writing
• Drawing
• Singing
• Piano
• Flirting
• Sex
• Aging reversal
• Stock market trading
• Motivation

Money.

As neat as having the skills would have, I don't see myself enjoying them for employment, so they'd just be fun for hobby use. And $10m is worth way more than that.
