She wanted to go the apartment route. Very glad we didn't. Bought the house in 2008, and we are well more than half paid. Should have it done by the end of the decade. I pay less than $800 for the mortgage for a 3 bedroom house in literally one of the most expensive states in the country. Its not the biggest, but its ours and we have our own space. Don't have to worry about any of that BS.
