I have the PC version and there's a ton of optimization and performance improvements and a lot of added (smaller) content. I can actually play the game on ultra settings without it crashing after 5-10 minutes.

I'm downloading on PS5 right now but it says it's going to take 5 hours (or at least it was when I put it in to sleep mode, so I'm not sure what it's at now)

Gonna check this out when I get home. Looking forward to finding out for good and all if the XB version will finally be playable again.

Nice! Now to see how long it takes for the mod community to unbreak mod support. Can't wait for FOL.

IIRC, things download faster in sleep mode, so it probably won't be a full 5 hours.

Huh, cool. I might have to pick it up again. It ran ok the last time I played on PC, but I do have a higher refresh rate monitor now.

Resolved issue that could prevent the Vault 111 Door from opening on new games.

Ah, that was a major problem on PC(at least until you installed a mod to fix it). Basically the more 'creations' you had installed the more likely it would impossible to start a new character.

9 Free Creation Club Items. Enclave Remnants (New!), Enclave Weapon Skins, Enclave Armor Skins, Tesla Cannon, Hellfire Power Armor, X-02 Power Armor, Heavy Incinerator, Halloween Workshop (New!), Makeshift Weapon Pack (New!).

So these are the freebies. Apparently the new Enclave enemies will use other installed Creation Club items against you, if you have any of them.

Making the Enclave Creations free was smart, since they were consistently among the best Creations they put out.

Fans of earlier games might initially be disappointed by the Heavy Incinerator's reduced range and rate of fire, but seeing as it's one of those weapons that benefits from multiple damage-boosting perks (and its splash damage paired with plentiful ammo type), the HI's still a beast even with those limitations. I once used a mod that boosted its range / RoF and eventually had to get rid of it, because it fell just shy of an Explosive Minigun in terms of breaking all challenge from the game.

I wonder if they got off their asses and added fix the Tesla Cannon's one major flaw, which was no reload animation. Sure seems to me like it would be easy enough to build off of the missile launcher's skeleton, but eh, what do I know.

nice, i'm still playing through 3 atm, but i'll be on 4 shortly. was really hoping it'd come out before i got around to it.

What, you don't like the weapon that hits like a missile launcher, fires as fast as a Combat Rifle, only uses Fusion Cells as ammo and has a free 'Neverending' effect due to the lack of a reload animation?

Yeah, the Tesla Cannon is ridiculously OP compared to other weapons in the game.

I consider the 'Neverending' effect to be a happy accident, and I certainly don't mind its inclusion in that sense, lol. But it does still feel like a cop-out for single-weapon paid content to not have a basic reload animation when there's a pretty obvious preexisting framework they could've built on (but then again it's free now, so I guess that point is moot).

It's a gigantic pain in the ass to make a straight fence on console.

That was my big complaint, placing things was a nightmare.

Fence still worked, but one bit would be as much as a foot offset from the next bit and I couldn't fix it.

Irritated the shit out of me, but watching people try to storm the gate and eat seven turrets made me feel better.

Now we just need a New Vegas remaster or update and I will be like a kid in a candy store.

If you're playing on PC, you can download the Sim Settlements 2 mod. It let's you place down a new item that will let the settlement building happen automatically. Makes settlements much more hands off.

And there are mods to either completely disable the attacks on bases or to change how they work and how frequent they are.

Of course, these are all temporarily broken by the new update, so you'll have to Wait for them to get fixed. But with mods you can completely change the part of the game you don't like.

Yeah, a lot of the Settlement-Building functions were rough around the edges to put it mildly, and fences were right at the top of that list. The Settlement Defense Kit Creation added a bunch of new junk fence options (including proper guard towers and corners) that both snap together and sink further into the ground, but I don't blame you if you wouldn't want to pay for it.

If you're looking for a free workaround, Place Anywhere is one of the best mods ever made, and it's available on XB and in a more limited capacity on PS. I wouldn't waste time settlement-building without it.

Was waiting for the next gen update for PS5.

And of course its broken. Again.

I had this happen with the last big Skyrim update; I got a very uncharacteristic loading screen crash within a minute of booting up (as in the game has never once crashed in that specific area / circumstance), and then it ran fine afterwards. Same thing happened when they patched the patch a month or so later. Hopefully that's the case here as well.

As expected it's a fucking tire fire on PC.
The ultra-wide support is the laziest implementation ever, they just stretched the UI to ridiculous proportions where it's so bad that certain resolutions can't even see the name field to enter your character's name at the start.

If you have an RTX make sure you disable Weapon Debris because they didn't fix that CTD either.

Many other issues with it. PC users didn't need this trash.

Does it run at 60 fps on ps5?

I need to finish up 3 and get back to 4 at some point. I really liked it.

The thing that confuses me most is that fallout 76 got a nice next gen bump last year and looks and runs very well. It clearly uses the same engine so how did they fuck this up so badly

Yeah they literally just stretched the UI and didn't do anything to compensate. It's not actual support.

You could just download Sim Settlements 1(or 2 on PC) and let that stuff handle itself for you.

Personally I get not wanting to mess too much with Settlements. In my case though it annoys me that Bethesda never bothered to fix the 'zero resources' glitch in larger Settlements, or having all Settlers figuratively explode if you unassign someone from food in certain Settlements, or bother to patch problems in their PAID CONTENT such as the Shooting Range nuking everything a Settler is carrying and respawning them with generic Wasteland crap.

Doesn't bother me personally but it is fucking laughable and on point Bethesda could screw up a free patch to game over 7 years old.

not to mention this update breaks all mods and unless mod authors come and fix them they wiill always be broken
