Fun fact: Restaurant owners were supposed to ramp everyone up to minimum wage or higher and use the PPA loans to maintain their staff. I do not know a single owner who didn't renovate, build elaborate outdoor dining spaces, buy a car or just "lose" the money. Wage theft in restaurants is why I got out of the industry. If I order online and it's from a full service place, usually a few bucks because I never know if they're making a full wage or not. If I'm ordering in-person at a fast casual place, usually a few bucks because they awkwardly stare at you when the question comes up on the fucking screen. Fuck whoever decided that should be a default feature in modern point of sale systems.
