The entire advertisement industry is basically cancer these days. The day I have to give up adblock completely is the day I get off the net.

I'm sure politicians in general would love to, but the amount of people using adblockers is likely a drop in the bucket overall with the proliferation of smartphones and apps

I gotta disagree with that tweet. Sketchy sites of the 2000s were using pop-unders that opened up an infinite chain of malware infested new ad windows that were themselves pop-unders that opened up infinite chains of etc

Tell them that the FBI literally recommends you have Adblock as a security measure.

If I've learned anything as of late, trying to explain to corporate that their decision making is terrible is a futile matter, regardless of how sound your reasoning.

You know there's some that do. There's like a dozen apps where you can boot it up and just watch ads all day and they'll cut you a few cents in credit for each one.

Edit: not literally all day there's usually a limit to how many you can watch per day but you get the idea

Even with DNS filtering, I went on Memory Alpha in Chrome on my phone yesterday and got an uncloseable video that took up half of the screen. Disgusting.

Ok fine. It's not really infinite because eventually your computer would just stop responding.
