While the lockdown brought significant hardships, with many experiencing profound losses ncluding myself, as I lost my home and had to switch jobs there were some good things. Despite the challenges, I found a silver lining in the situation. The opportunity to work from home in my new role, the increased family time, and the convenience of delivery and curbside pickup services was great. (Im aware that this period was difficult for those taking to the curb.)

Communities came together in solidarity, stepping outside to applaud the efforts of the hospital staff. The reduced need for travel meant I could save on gas expenses, and it was the aspect of staying indoors that resonated with me the most. I think that was the best thing. I also lived in another town. Ironically with people I know. But not this place were I know no body and I am being gentrified.

I got to spend a lot of time with my father, which turned out to be a good thing since he didn't have a lot of time left.

My husband works in the nonessential service sector and was making more on unemployment than he did working. That was nice.

I had never worked from home and worked in an office where working from home at all, while technically allowed under broad circumstances, was very much the exception. Then I was working exclusively from home for a few years, and in 2022 when I had the choice I started going into the office about half the time because it helps me maintain a work/life separation. Most of my colleagues do not want to go back into the office at all, so as a bonus the office is quiet.

More or less this. I spent the lockdowns taking care of my mother, who died of a stroke in 2022.

i was unemployed and pretty much at the height of the severity of my chronic lower back pain at the time, so i wasn't going anywhere anyway, except for when i started going to physical therapy around that same time. i guess i liked that the roads were emptier than normal. but then again i wasn't driving at the time either, my mom would drive me to my appointments, so it didn't actually make much of a difference for me.

Also on 261 watching Savoots meltdown because he couldn't go to the gym was also great. Guy had a daily unhinged rant about how the lockdown was killing his gains.

Damn, can't believe I missed that.

As for the lockdowns I enjoyed how in the beginning it felt like we were all in this together. I also enjoyed analyzing how the shutdowns affected people in a sociology kind of way. Getting around to finally beating FF III was nice too.

He should have gotten a home gym. I wonder if he is still posting. I could help him make a home gym now and he can get even more gainz.

I was living in a giant house with two very close friends when lockdowns hit.

For me, in those couple months we basically just hung out, watched series, or played games together. It was a super fun time in my life.

Basically like being a kid again tbh

I liked all the empty space in stores during the rare occasions when I went out shopping for supplies instead of getting things home-delivered. Less people walking around everywhere in the stores made it feel less claustrophobic for me.

There was only a week where I worked from home, in which I would normally drive to work.

The lockdown got me into running once the gyms were closed, but it sucked ass.overall. My dad got diagnosed with brain cancer and it wasn't easy during the lockdown, especially in hospitals. Nurses didn't want my mom there half the time. Then I lost two jobs in 2021 and my dad passed away 11 months after diagnosis.

I spent more time with my dad then I ever did, but those moments were fleeting.

So I was doing my masters degree online and I was almost finished when Covid started. I was working at Panera bread and only had a month left before I could quit since I was almost done with my masters at SNHU and had money saved. That last month was amazing since we had no customers. I loved it.

My life honestly didnt change. I already live in the Midwest in the middle of farmland where there is no traffic. I still went to work like normal. I still went to the grocery store weekly except I wore a mask. But I do my grocery shopping on Monday when the store is mostly empty anyway.

I dont eat out since 2017 and when Im not working Im at home all the time anyway. Lockdown didnt change my life at all.

I thought it was cool to look at online pictures and see air pollution clear up and the canals in Venice clear up because of the lack of people polluting everything. That was cool.

They closed down my work because it was directly effected by schools being shut down. So I got to collect unemployment.

It was fantastic. I worked out like 5-8 hours a day while watching TV and bullshitting with my bestie on videochat. There was zero stress and I was in fantastic shape. It's the life that I was meant to live and for several months I got to live it.

On the downside, my wedding reception was canceled. So that sucked. Still got married and everything, but it was less of an event.

Due to a massive increase in work, I signed a new full time contract with my employer. I was to be paid minimums of 35 hours per week regardless of how much I worked under. Obviously during lockdowns I was working 45-50 hours per week. Once it died down in late 2021, business plummeted and do did my hours but I was always paid 35 hours. It's good until 2026.

That's it. I hated everything else about lockdowns.
