I read most of it, the main two accusations worth at least.

Though I only briefly heard about one of the incidents.

Kind of shitty people are willing to blow things out of proportion or take things (wildly) out of context to make someone out to be a bad guy.

Not saying chuggaa is perfect but still.

I haven't really watched his stuff in many years but sucks that he has no drive to keep doing what he was doing because of this shit sandwich he was forced to eat.

Also what he said about the edgy humor of the internet at the time (2009ish) is rather true, and people who weren't a part of the (very) niche internet cultures around at the time are going to be very appalled by what used to get said. Or if they've never been in the internet where you have a persona/not your real name or personality, they're going to have a hard time wrapping their head around what people feel they can say behind a username.

Finished. I don't really have a reason to not believe him about his situation (aside from Masae, that just seems weird and malicious that she'd leave that entire thing out even if she wanted to keep it private, her wording made him seem like a creep and everything that happened between them was unwarranted), but I didn't really know just how deep in a hole he was mentally. He's incredibly lucky to have a supportive girlfriend and very supportive friends to help him through this as well as the professional help he's been getting. It seems like none of this should've ever gone public if everything was settled privately already.

Completely understandable if he never wants to go back to Let's Plays again.

Given the breakup part and that it seems like they both loathe eachother, it's possible Masae used it as a time to take a shot. I like Masae (haven't watched her streams recently but mainly it's because she hasn't played things I want to watch) but if what I'm thinking is true, not cool. I don't plan on not watching her streams anymore though, but it's something that I definitely want to not be a part of.

I really just want this to end peacefully though.

Yeah, it sounds like it was a difficult breakup that they ended up kinda resenting each other.

Someone who's friends with him corroborated the story that he and Masae were engaged and broke up. So that part seems to be holding up, so it kinda sounds like what Masae said was likely out of spite because she kept getting bugged about him.

I saw this last night after finishing the new X-Men '97 episode. Masae said she wouldn't respond to anything about chugga again. She must have known it would be eventually revealed that they were engaged.

Does this mean The Runaway Guys is done? I really wanted them to play Banjo Tooie tbh since they did Kazooie.

This whole thing was a load of bull hockey from the get-go. Glad Chugga had truefriends by his side through this. It was much to do about nothing the entire time.

dude hit the winchester and waited for it all to blow over and came out with a book. well played chugga.

I don't feel like anyone is truly innocent; Chuggaa did some dumb things but at the very least, none of seems to be anywhere as damning as it seemed when it all came out in July, plus he's very willing to explain everything and clear the air as much as he can, though I'm definitely not happy about how Masae handled things either.

That said I have no animosity towards Chuggaa or Masae, but I really only watch the latter because I'm more interested in livestreams than video playthroughs.

All in all, people screw up, but none of this seems like it was worth the total chaos that ensued from it.

It was done for a few months now.

Yeah, I don't think that's ever coming back, unless they decide that he's exonerated enough to have no effect on the branding.

Even so, I dunno if Emile would want to join again since he said the situation had drained all of his motivation to make public appearances or videos.

If anyone had any doubt, Masae responded by confirming they used to date/were engaged and had broken up. The intent of her message was because she wanted to be left alone with how much people kept asking her about him, and unfortunately people took it to mean he was an invasive creep.

She should have known that's how people would take it.

I still think she's exonerated here as well. I totally respect her intentions, it's just with the wording and timing, it went more sideways than expected.

She was the one who initiated nearly every time, he realized it was getting uncomfortable and started talking to her less (as actually seen in the time gaps of the logs shared), and the smoking gun was when she sent him a sexually explicit gift to his home. He cut things off. He later shared Discord logs when they were adults, and she shared that she was groomed by someone else into believing that being with older guys was hot and tried this with several older men. They both say that she was really lucky she didn't end up as a victim.

...I just get annoyed when some people want to know what the other side has to say but aren't actually willing to read it. Playing a game of telephone is what leads to miscommunication, so I really recommend just reading his doc.

yeah, I believe him now. This was just a case of someone with autism not getting social cues and no one being frank enough to just tell him.

but anyway, I will say that there is one aspect in all this i dislike. The idea that his fetish is a coping mechanism for trauma that needs to be addressed.

Sounds like he left out information about their relationship then. I read it all.

Even still it seems like "Twitter Mob" twisted and distorted things she said about him anyway. The one consistency seems to be that he wasn't in a right headspace and looked for companionship at low times in his life, and he's been undergoing therapy to try to fix that part of himself.

Saying someone was a victim of a minor and they didn't know better than to talk about rape etc with them due to Autism doesn't sit well with me. The fact she engaged first was already known when this stuff dropped also, that doesn't change that adults have duties to minors. It's good that he stopped when it I guess got too real for him, but he was dropping terms like "pedocrush" before that in the logs. Or is he claiming that didn't happen?

I'm not saying he can't seek forgiveness & etc, but I think it's important to recognize things like "head space" aren't excuses for exploiting people for example, and not to rewrite history about what people were outraged about or why they were concerned about a dude with a broad audience of young people having such a past.

Yeah, that was around the era where Pedobear and stuff were edgy humor. It's not like he was never known for saying weird in-appropriate things even as a part of The Runaway Guys, but those jokes are no longer "in style" now.
