Smacking a small topic with a tangent, sorry:

I've been thinking, since that other topic with the coal town's poisoned water, that there must be bit of a horseshoe curve when you get to those really hillbilly areas. Much of their resources aren't sourced and delivered for them; they get water from the land and hunt for food. Deregulation fucks up the environment they draw from, so of course certain parts of deep red areas would vote blue; immediate survival outweighs bigotry, and I think the ability to reproduce has a similar priority.

I mean, this is very good, but are you counting on this happening in November? On what basis? This hasn't even happened in other surprise Democratic special election wins since Dobbs. It's hopefully a strong signal that Republicans will continue to reap the whirlwind on abortion, but this doesn't mean polling is dead and blue wave is coming.

Frogot to make this thread myself lol.

I heard an interview with her yesterday, she attributes her victory to talking to voters and she says the #1 issue was abortion rights.

A lot of people still think this election is going to be Trump v Biden. No, it's going to be Trump v bodily autonomy, Trump v our other rights, and Trump v Democracy.

There's far more important factors in recent elections that have been helping Dems win and Trump is the epitome of all of that.

Yep. I've been saying it for a while but most of the board gives pushback. Glad to see more and more people are noticing that polling is nowhere near as accurate as it use to be. Don't live and die by the polling numbers. They are massively inaccurate at times now a days.
