I remember those! I remember seeing one in a bowling too. I remember my local Walmart had arcade games outside their front door. The store had an enclosed area before you walked into the store itself.

Daaaang I did that all of the time.

Also I got a like 3 game demo disk from Blockbuster once that had MGS on it for Ps1. I played the first level for more hours than I played the whole game when I bought it.

Video game magazines. They were way more enjoyable than what we have now. I can't get the high of the paper smell off a screen.

Some boards being super active with a regular community (the FFX board being mine).

Pizzeria chips were the best chips I ever had.

I also remember drive-in theaters. Drive-in theaters were amazing since you can hear the movies and chill from the comfort of your car. My brother and I used to sit on the truck bed and try to watch 2 screens. These really need to become popular again.

I can remember when you could smoke inside a lot of buildings. Restaurants gas stations etc. I was under age but I have a clear memory of smoking inside a burger King.

There was also a gas station that the cashier would still smoke inside way past when it had been a state wide ban.

Hell I can remember when they banned smoking period on college campuses and school in general. That came after though

There was a time when the premium cable channels didnt scramble their signals, you could get them for free using a satellite dish.

When if you wanted to record a show on TV, you had to wait for it come on and stick in a blank vhs into the vcr and hit record

I really miss early 00's Toys R Us. They went super hard on importing stuff from Saturday morning and Toonami blocks. Gundam, Zoids, Megaman X/.exe, and Medabots models. Beyblades, Ultimate muscle figures with like a billion joints that could be configured into most any wrestling position. All this modular configuration clickity snappity goodness, a kid tinkerer's dream.

My dad had one of those before he got a satellite dish. Every broadcast network came in pretty clear, except for Fox. For whatever reason Fox had to be in just the right spot or it was snowy looking as hell. But when it came in clear it looked incredible because of the contrast with the static.
