If I didn't know about that and just played it like a "normal" game, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. Playing it 'wrong' on my first playthrough enhanced the overall experience in several ways for me. Dialogue is different with some areas being changed along with new boss fights and reasons behind them. Honestly only took about 2 hours to get through minus "that" fight. Worst part about it is probably triggering it at the start imo since you kinda just have to grind the random encounters for a bit. The tone shift and having already known characters reacting to you as the "bad guy" is probably why Undertale is one of my favorite games at least.
