I like my electric because of the built in timer and it buzzes when its time to switch to another surface. I also trust it to miss fewer spots compared to me mindlessly scrubbing away.

electric is winning in the poll though. They are usually like over 15 times more in cost.

Electric toothbrushes come with replaceable heads, you know. You can keep using the same one basically forever. Or until the battery can no longer hold a charge.

I know it's said that electric tooth brushes are better for cleaning teeth, but they never feel like they are to me. I've tried a few, but always revert back to manual ones.

eBay? I have no doubt you can find a listing and send them money, but I've never heard of a purchased item actually being delivered. That's why Amazon took over.

Pretty much any dentist will tell you electric is better for cleaning teeth. But personal preference is another matter.

Either way you still need to floss.

I have never had an item not delivered by using eBay. It's true at some point I randomly started using Amazon more, but I have never had an issue with eBay. Not sure what you are talking about. There's even a feedback system where people leave reviews on buyers or sellers so you know if accounts are reputable or not. In the event someone didn't send an item, PayPal would have you covered.

On topic, I used to prefer electric toothbrushes, but now I'm not so sure. A month or so ago, I ran out of toothbrush heads thinking I still had some more, so I had to go to a manual while I waited for the replamcenet heads to come in. Instead of a cheap, dollar store manual, this one was a really good manual. And I just felt like I was really getting a good cleaning in. Better than my electric. I also feel like I can clean quicker. You're supposed to go slow with the electric and not do the back and forth motion while it's spinning (at least that's what I heard). I tried to do the manual in the morning and electric at night.

Is that surprising? The only three times I've ever heard of someone ordering from eBay, the package never arrived. One was me, one was Mrs. Devsman (before she was Mrs. Devsman) and one was my brother. All around 2010.

I suppose it's possible the item(s) arrived after I moved in 2012, or Mrs. Devsman moved in 2011, or my brother moved in I forget what year.

what brand and how much was this really good manual? some dollar store toothbrushes are ok. yeah don't know what that guy is talking about , they won't deliver your stuff? But ebay did used to be cheaper yrs ago. amazon has really closed the gap in price. That might be the reason ebay lost ground

Honestly, I'm not sure. I think my gf bought it. I found it under the sink and can't remember what was on the packaging. Just doing a quick Google search, I think it was an Oral-B with some kind of fancy bristles. Like a super expensive toothbrush, but just not the generic dollar store ones.

I've been on ebay for over 20 and everything has been delivered except one item that was some sort of scam. I think it was a hijacked account.

There's the money back guarantee just in case something isn't delivered and it's usually back in your account fast. But yeah, certain things like electric toothbrushes are far cheaper to buy there than Amazon. Other things not so much.

Yeah, but in this case it was weird because of the scam. The seller provided a tracking number that was a real UPS number for my town so it showed as delivered. It also showed that the item was 9 pounds when it was an 8 ounce item. Other recent feedback started popping up for the seller saying they were also scammed. The account was a few years old with 100% positive before that.

So ebay's automated system sided with the seller at first since their fake number said delivered. The case was closed almost instantly and I had to open a new one which wasn't easy. I had to get an email from UPS to verify that it wasn't a tracking number for my address (they won't give you the actual address). Then I got refunded by ebay.

That's a rare example of how it can be a pain, but you'll still get your money back.

Unless you mean you dont rinse after brushing, I dont think the tiny amount of fluoride in listerine is on your teeth for long enough to matter if you are brushing after.

Anyways, watched the style theory video on toothbrushes and learned it really doesnt matter much really in toothbrush choice. Flossing is what really matters.

that dentist site says the importance of floss is vastly underestimated? i agree. Seems most americans underestimate floss and brush like twice every day. Why do most americans dislike to floss maybe etc...?

I also have RSI in my right wrist and manual brushing was literally becoming a pain.

Should clarify that you mean you dont rinse with water and dont eat or drink for around an hour after you brush so the fluoride has time to do its work.
