South America in general. I have a friend in Mexico who said that there would be government sponsored events for a bunch of people to watch Dragon Ball Super episodes. He even said that it was either the Japanese government or Toei Animation (or both imo) even sent the Mexican government a formal diplomat letter to stop...they didn't lol.

Not trying to be snarky, but pretty sure his loss was felt in lots of countries. Hell, one of my managers said he went home and cried a little while watching his favorite episode of DBZ.

The world may be going to Hell, but I am personally awash with convenience.

The double stupidity in how TC never said they were surprised and you're one of the biggest chuds on the board.

Yeah, like it or not for Toei, Dragonball Z is on the level of Star Wars in terms of cultural impact in South America. So Toriyama's death was never going to be overlooked or go by without his most famous work at least being rebroadcasted.

Hell, it's more popular than the Beatles.

South/Central America in general is very into DBZ, however I think Argentina especially so, at least by reputation, so this isn't that surprising.

Still cool.
