The third fort condor match kicked my ass

I feel like you could make a really good Fort Condor by taking the best of this and Intermission. It was better in Intermission, but damn if the main character designs here isn't a big plus.

I just finished the second Fort Condor match last night. Now I'm scared

Third and fourth are definitely harder. Stronghold defense worked the best for me there. Also on hard.

Is the 3D audio in this game messed up? From headphones it sounds great but not from TV. I guess there's only so much my crappy TV speakers can do. It sounds great in the menu and in Astro though.

Actually even in Stereo mode the sound is pretty weird.

i really like intermissions fort condor too. I think rebirths for condor would feel better if you could still win if you knocked down more buildings than the opponent. Its the rush to destroy the main tower that makes it really hard imo

Yeah I only ever lost to time limit as well. I also kinda miss building my own team and not just choosing from a selection of pre-made things, which I seem to recall you could do in Intermission.

I mean in case it wasn't already clear, Shinra is mostly run by crazy people and morons. I love how Rufus even points this out, wondering what the fuck they were thinking with the Sector 7 plate stunt.

I mostly think it shows how dumb Sephiroth is. It took him 30+ years to figure out who his mom was? He didn't question it at all until seeing a sign on a door? He's never read a book before? He has the backstory of a typical 14 year old protagonist who goes on to save the world, but because he only discovered this during his mid-life crisis, he became a villain.

Is the whole thesis of FF7 that ignorant middle aged men are the most dangerous people?

Sephiroth is kind of a dumbass yeah. It is also weird how he went THAT off the rails just from that so quickly. Makes me wonder how he'd take learning about Hojo and Lucretia...would that be better or worse

Where else would he have learned about Jenova, considering everyone he knew who would know lied to him about it and all the files on the experiment only exist in the Shinra manor (maybe Gast or Hojo had more, but again they were lying to him)

They clearly brief him on super confidential stuff all the time (e.g. Hojo's experiments), and he has limitless access to places like the manor's library. If that's really the only place with that info then that makes sense, but that's unlikely.

Yeah but the they there are the people who dont want sephiroth to know the real question is, if youre gonna lie about who his mom is why even use the name Jenova? Literally any other name besides that or Lucretia would avoid this whole thing. Unless of course Hojo wanted sephiroth to figure it out and do it it a way that would break him since Hojo knows that sending Seph to nibelheim at all makes it pretty likely hes gonna start questioning stuff

Sephiroth's private file at Shinra HQ should really have a giant "DO NOT SEND TO NIBELHEIM" message at the top too.

Like surely someone in the company knew that would cause an issue right.

I'd just write it off as Hojo orchestrating problems like he does all the time. He's probably the most consistent problem in the plot pushing both Sephiroth, Jenova, and other bullshit

I did figure whoever sent him to Nibelheim did it on purpose

Bro, what. I just met the doctor who helped young Tifa, and my play clock reads 43 HOURS. I know I want to savor this game, but fuck a duck, this might wind up being a 120 hour first playthrough.

Alright sorry for badmouthing sormormy, that fight was really hard, died a few times. But also felt really good when I got in the flow. Had to change around my party and materia a lot. I miss when parties were static and you knew the boss was designed for those specific characters.

They still do that, there's just more situations where you have a full range of options including wrong answers like trying to use Red against airborne enemies

Is that tied to the trophy? Like if I got the trophy I beat Roche?

I skipped the cutscene >_> I failed the first time, then the second time I skipped thinking it was like an MGS deal where there were multiple cutscenes so I figured I'd skip to the awarding rather than watch the broadcast again. But I skipped straight to playing as Yuffie.

Coming up on 28 hours so far, just finished the first part of Corel, been doing all the side content as I go. The sit-up minigame is indeed the hardest and most frustrating so far, but you can make Tifa wear her swimsuit during it, so it's fine.

Oh do I not get to pick the date.

You can choose who you want after beating the game though.
